Cristina was an amazing host. Very friendly and courteous. Every morning for breakfast, we enjoyed a basket with a variety of local products, that was brought to our door. We were also able to make requests at any time, which were dealt with immediately and got really nice recommendations of what to do in the area. The flat is located right by the stream and is perfect if you want to spend a peaceful and relaxing time in the nature. There is also a goat farm right next door, which can be visited, and the view from the apartment as well as the surrounding area is incredible beautiful. We were also able to use the bikes at any time, but a car is still recommended for travelling to the nearby villages and especially the nature reserve, which can both be reached in around 30 minutes. We really enjoyed our stay at Be Alva and would always come back!

Everything I read in previous reviews here was absolutely true. Every little piece is beautiful and made with love. Staying here is a fantastic experience! The views from the house are even more spectacular than on photos. On the territory you feel like in the middle of the nowhere, but the town with a lot of supermarkets is just in 3km.

First of all the responses and replies from Paula and Marcia were excellent, prompt and informative. Never have we seen such quick responses any time of the day...I was -4hr GMT. The apartment was clean and comfortable...All amenities for a comfortable stay was available. .They were there to greet us and explained everything in detail. They arranged a nice, must visit, cheese making factory. The breakfast was excellent. Looking forward to our next trip. Thanks once again Paula and Marcia...you made our New Year Bright! This place is truly special and feels like a poetic experience in Portugal! Out of the 12+ places we stayed, this is one of our favorites. Everything was perfect! When I made the reservation, I mentioned we’d be celebrating our wedding anniversary. The Chão do Rio surprised us with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from its garden. It was so thoughtful and made our trip unforgettable. This place is worth every penny! What I loved most: - The photos reveal what the place is like! - The staff are incredibly kind, polite, and attentive. - The cleanliness is spotless. - The breakfast basket with local treats is a must-try and such a special experience in Serra da Estrela. - The bed and pillows are super comfy. - The functionality of everything! Everything was very well thought out - The soaps made from natural materials - I loved all the local products and this was also a big plus I would like to leave my big thanks to this magical place! All the women who run this place are amazing!
