We were a family of 5 and I am so happy we discovered and chose Tribe Yala. It was a privilege to be here and make some wonderful memories. Located right in the middle of nature, when you arrive here there is no where to go and you would not want to it's straight out of a movie. The deluxe tent with plunge pool and roof terrace was amazing and accommodated the 5 of us without tripping over each other just fine. Dinner was lovely, breakfast was outstanding and was served on our tree top terrace which could not have been nicer and the effort was really appreciated, offered and not expected. Served after our super safari organized by Tribe with snack box, respectful driver and ranger. The staff were magnificent. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I would not hesitate to come back. This is where memories are made!

They arranged our transfer from Ella and arranged a morning and afternoon safari for us. We were greeted with a delicious cold coconut water, in the coconut. We chose the breakfast and dinner option which makes so much sense because the town is a bit of a walk and after a safari all day (4:30 am to 6:30 pm) it is great to have dinner at the homestay. Both dinners we had were excellent, I think the best food we've had in Sri Lanka! They also pack a breakfast to go on your safari day because of leaving so early. When you wake up they have coffee and bananas for you before leaving. Our room was a great size, ac and hot water worked well. The owners are very kind, friendly and even drove us to the bus stop, stayed with us and made sure we got on the right bus. I highly recommend Tissa Rainbow for your stay while exploring Yala National Park, you won't regret it!

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We like the people, especially the manager Inbaraj, who is a great and kind man. He showed us the cinnamon plantations and explained how everything is used, he was so kind. We liked the dinner, the best chicken curry we tried so far in Sri Lanka, also there was a desert, we liked a lot. The room was clean, sanitized, everything was great, the view from our room was great. Mr. Inbaraj also treat us with the best papaya juice, coffee and the plantation harvests. We are so grateful and happy that we choose this place for our stay in Yala. The place is also near the Yala park, which was great as well.

My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

The location, the atmosphere, the food and the facilities were just perfect. We had just made for us on arrival and the food was delicious. We did the dining under the stars experience for dinner and it was incredible with the best SriLanka food we had tasted during our whole trip. They organised a safari for us and gave us a tasty packed breakfast to bring too! I couldn’t recommend this place more!! The staff were incredible and went absolutely above and beyond to make our experience even better than we could have imagined.
