Incredible views, a huge balcony which had afternoon sun, the gas braai was easy to use and the view of the waterfall in the distance and sounds of nature were amazing for an escape from the city for the weekend. John was a great host checked in with us before arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the filter coffee machine as well and a nice big TV with streaming and DSTV.

Being a boutique hotel, everything was cozy, intimate and comfortable. It's wonderful to wake up to the sounds of the ocean and the penguins, who are just not cute and noisy, but apparently, they bite! Kirsty, Nelson and team were exceptionally warm and welcoming. Simon's Town has a certain charm to it. We ate out at Dixie's. The food was great and the cocktails packed a punch.

Penguins View Guesthouse has well-equipped self-catering accommodation featuring free WiFi in Simon’s Town, a 5-minute walk from Boulders Beach. Free private parking is available on site. It is very relaxing. Excellent view of the ocean, Boulders Beach can also be seen. It is very close to Boulders beach where you can walk or swim with penguins. The host kindly permitted us to stay an extra half a day because we had an evening flight and no one checked into this room. This was very kind. We went to see penguins once again and had pancakes and coffee in small cafes which were within walking distance. Walking is pleasant - this is a special walkway where you see many nesting penguins right nearby. My husband also likes that there are many hyraxes. The place is far from the center of the town, but if you want to see penguins then it is a very good place. Also, he liked that there is a fridge in the breakfast area where you can take a beer or wine any time (for money). It was a very convenient feature, taking into account that many places close at 5 PM. The electricity went off a few times, but the owner provided a schedule in advance and it was not a problem. Also, provided many candles and solar-powered lamps.
