This hotel is Shanghai's best kept secret. If you need to stay north of the city, stay here. It feels like a miniature Disneyland. Pictures of the grand staircase are accurate and do not disappoint. Staff checking in told me that the rate for my room had changed -- it had actually become *cheaper* relative to what I booked. They spent a half hour trying to get me the cheaper room rate -- outstanding. The bedroom was luxurious, like staying in a palace. Largest bed I've ever seen -- 1.5x wider than it was long. Short walk from Baoyang Rd metro station. Maybe a half hour to get back to the city on the metro, so not too long though it feels long the first time! Mall next door has food and other amenities. Breakfast was delicious. This was the best hotel I stayed in for the price during my last trip to China.

I had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel! The experience was truly delightful from start to finish. The breakfast was a standout, especially the excellent Chinese options which were fresh and delicious. The room was spacious, immaculately cleaned, and offered a beautiful view which made it even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to assist with any request. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and excellent service!

The communication with the host was extremely good, they were always available and very nice. There is no key needed to enter the accomodation, only a card to enter the elevator in the casement floor, that you'll receive upon meeting the hosts. To enter the apartment you need to swipe over the black key pad and when numbers appear, you'll enter the passcode you'll receive from the hosts. With its location right above the subway station, travelling to other places was very easy. Also having the food court of a mall right next to it and supermarkets all in the very same building was very convenient to have. Furthermore, our flight back with air china to our home country got cancelled but with us not owning a chinese SIM-card, we asked the hosts if we could borrow a phone to call the airline customer service. But as the customer service did not speak english, Samuel, one of the hosts, talked to the customer service and translated the whole conversation for a whole 2 hours for us, while also having to convince the airline to get us rebooked for free (as there were complications with the airline system). Finally, thanks to Samuel (and others), we were rebooked and succesfully got our flight home. We are very thankful to everyone and will definitely come back, if we should visit Shanghai again. Thank you very much, it was a very pleasant stay.

This hostel has an excellent location, it is near the subway (you can easily reach the airport from the subway station), near Nanjing Road, that is actually a shopping street and it is also at a short walk distance to the Bund where you have an amazing view of Shanghai skyline. The staff was amazing, especially Luna, who was very kind and helped me a lot!

In the Huangpu district of Shanghai, close to Pedestrian Street of East Nanjing Rd., River House Near The Peoples Square And The Bund features a terrace and a washing machine.

It's so close to all major attractions, just a walking distance, by the river and a very nice area across the bridge. You really get what you see and the view was breathtaking.

Overall, a nice hotel with a modern interior, very, very clean, and excellent service (including English-speaking staff). Fresh water was delivered to the room every day. We arrived earlier than expected, but the room was already available, and we were able to check in immediately without any hassle. Breakfast was exceptional, offering a wide variety of both Chinese and European cuisine. There were plenty of options, and the food was very tasty and of high quality. Many dishes were freshly prepared in front of you (I never got bored with the fresh omelettes). There was also an abundance of vegetables and fruits—the watermelon was a daily must-have for the children. The pictures provided were truly representative, and there were no unpleasant surprises upon arrival. The rooms are spacious; we stayed in a standard room with two adults and two children, and it was comfortable. A couple staying in the same room would have plenty of space. The bathroom setup was particularly nice, with a separate toilet and a very large shower. I especially liked how the shower floor was designed—every hotel should adopt this feature. The location is within walking distance of the metro and railway station, yet you don’t feel like you’re near a station. There was absolutely no noise from the surroundings. According to other guests’ demography, this is a truly family- and children-friendly hotel.
