Very clean, comfortable and felt like home! It was like a little apartment, so we could find absolutely everything we needed. The location is quite and lovely, it’s just 10 mins away from the lake. 6-7 mins away from a grocery shop, and 2 mins from a bakery. The stuff is responsible, respectful and friendly! 10/10 experience :)

The Alte Post is a 300 year old coaching inn. Downstairs the restaurant looks traditional and the food is great! We ate here, outside in the evenings, 3 times during our week's stay - go for the Hawaiian curry chicken :-) . The food is as good as if not better than the food in the main high street restaurants and as it was so hot it was good to be able to eat at our hotel. The breakfast has a choice of eggs cooked specially for you and a buffet style breakfast bar to choose your own meat, cheese, cereals, fruit, yoghurts and bread. The staff were all very friendly and didn't laugh at our attempts to speak German (I'm sure they were laughing inside!). We had a room on the north side of the building on the second floor, which was cool in 30+ degrees. We regretted bringing such heavy cases as there is no elevator - however the staff helped us with them on arrival. There is a little sun terrace on the second floor and we enjoyed reading outside in the evenings with the swifts flying over head. Lindau has everything you need and you can walk around the island's coastline through parks and pathways. Check out the garden pot and statue shop in one of the old railway sheds as you walk past - good thing we were flying home or our car would have ben full! We went by ferry to Konstanz, Mainau Island and Bregenz - all lovely, and if you love gardens, Mainau is a must - the Italian rose garden was in full bloom - heavenly. We also went to Ravensburg and St Gallen by train (trains and buses are free with the Lindau Card - you get this on arrival at your hotel). The whole area is lovely and there are lots of walks and cycle routes around the lake - would definitely have another holiday here.

Our hosts were so accommodating in every way. Spacious room, super comfortable bed, excellent value tasty breakfast. Went out of their way to ensure we got our breakfast before an early train. It was lovely to stay in the old town in the Old School which was immaculately clean. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in Lindau.

Great cozy boutique hotel , with great spirit . A wonderful place to relax, to immerse yourself in an ancient atmosphere , which is kept in the hotel interior , mixed with the modern amenities . The owner (who I think we met) is very welcoming and friendly person , the girl on the reception was very polite and helpful as well and the girl at the breakfast was always kind and careful , she was making great breakfast ! Mentioning breakfast , it was great , with big variety of quality and delicious food . Overall great experience , very beautiful romantic and cozy hotel ! Going to be back soon !

We had a glorious week in this beautiful apartment. We just loved watching the view of the mountains and lake change with the weather. I just loved lying in the hammock and watching the sky. The apartment had everything we needed and more. The owner was so helpful and so welcoming with tips about the area. We were so sorry to leave this special place.
