Beautiful, modern, comfortable and cozy, newly renovated apartments next to the Ponferade Cathedral itself. Wonderful penthouse view point looking over the whole city. The host, Waldo, is very kind, caring and full of information about all the details necessary for a pleasant stay in the apartment as well as in the city. He welcomed me with a bottle of excellent red wine, made a dinner reservation for me at the best fish restaurant, and it opened an hour earlier than usual, helped with the laundry,... Thank you Waldo. A big and sincere recommendation to everyone who likes a bit of luxury and elegance when traveling.

This is a homestay in a remote part of the El Bierzo although it is a short drive to Ponferrada. The house was lovely and just what we needed for a restful stay. It is a very well-equipped house with a separate barbeque area by the little brook. There is parking for a car. The lovely balcony is great for people watching and watching the world go by with a book. There are walks from the house. We were met with the keys and it was easy to keep in contact with the owners through Whats App. The owner kindly left us a bottle of local wine. There is a co-operative bakery in the village - we had freshly baked bread every evening! We had a lovely stay.

    Location was superb for town and castle. Rooms very clean and facilities great. Super friendly host who put on the Champions League match for us downstairs in the games room - he and his staff seem to genuinely care about the travellers.. Good kitchen, albeit only microwave cooking.

    For one night - perfect economy-class hotel. Comfortable bed, clean shower, decent breakfast. The solo room is extremely small, so for a longer stay, I would recommend bigger rooms. Good location, and friendly staff. Convenient for pilgrims who don't like albergues or just want to have a good night's sleep.
