It was a great, quiet, rural location, yet two miles to the little nearby town and only 15 minute drive from Rennes. The property was impeccably maintained and thoughtfully appointed. Unlike some properties, it seemed as if the hostess chose the furniture and essentials rather than just using leftover junk. The bathroom and shower were amazing. Towels were good quality and absorbent. Bed was comfortable (a bit hard for this American, but French beds are hard anyway and that's just a matter of taste. This was certainly better than others I've slept in in France). Host was extremely nice. Google maps takes you past the property to another one also labeled #1 on the same street. She got in her car, drove down the street to find us, and escorted us back! Very helpful host! The other thing that was great was that she left clear instructions about how to use appliances and things (in French) and did not expect us to be her maid service when we left! I've about had it with these properties that charge a cleaning fee, yet expect you to do all the cleaning before you leave, and this place did not do that. Consequently, we did our best to leave it very neat when we departed. Finally, there is a beautiful back yard area with lounge chairs that is perfect for relaxing. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Magnificent place to stay!!! At first I was reluctant to stay at this mill, because of small number of opinions, but eventually very good-looking photos of interior made me choose it. And a little risk turned out to be worth it! The mill is located about 20minutes from bigger city Beyeux and Omaha beach by car, in small town-village, so it can be a base to go to known attractions, also approximity to supermarket in Beyeux is a plus. The hotel is surrounded by small garden with small fruit trees, you can hear there many birds singing and there is a stork nest by the chimney :) The building is in fact an old mill (there is still a mill wheel outside, and big stones to grind flour) with recently renovated interior - the photos are very accurate - it looks plain and rustical but very luxurious and aesthetic. My room was very spacious, and had a gramophone with good choice of music. Also the bathroom was medium size, with bathrobes and good quality cosmetics. As for food and dining - hosts offer a breakfast of your own choice - all good I had there was fresh and delicious. There is also a kitchen and dining room with big window showing garden on the first floor. One can also ask owners about good nearby restaurants. They are very kind and will help you with everything if you ask them :)

Nice location, close to the town of Bayeux. The campsite is quite small, which means it is quiet and peaceful. The owner was really helpful and lent us an extension cable for our van. He also gave us some recommendations on what to see nearby. I would say it is more for families with older children or adults, as it doesn't have any activities on site, but there are definitely things to do around. Thank you!

Our second stay here and we’ve just returned from a wonderful week in this beautiful gîte in Normandy, and we couldn’t be happier with our stay again. The house had absolutely everything we needed — thoughtfully equipped, comfortable, and spotlessly clean throughout. The owner again had been so lovely and is so friendly. I really recommend staying at this property. It is in the most perfect location to explore Normandy and is absolutely beautiful.

    We loved the warm, comfortable, very well equipped accommodation. The setting was excellent, we loved the rural, but on the outskirts of a town location. The whole property was well maintained within a beautiful and peaceful setting. We were able to travel to all of the places of interest very easily. Pascale was a perfect host, very generous with our welcoming gifts and breakfast treats thereafter. We did find the beds were a bit firm compared to our own at home.

    This is a beautiful house with two stylish and well-equipped rooms. The fixtures and fittings were of a high quality and very clean. We were given a double room each even though I had only booked a double room for my mum and myself. The bathroom facilities are shared but the toilet is separate from the shower room. It is very peaceful and although inland from beaches, the whole coastline was within 30 minutes. The owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome with an evening of drinks and nibbles, which tested my rusty French.
