Lovely location. Exceptionally clean. Equipped with everything you could need for a perfect stay - even little touches like a bottle of wine, fruit juice and sweets which made the stay extra special. Extremely comfortable - one of the best night’s sleep I have had in ages. Charming and helpful hosts. Access to a secure garden which was wonderful for our dog. Really good if you are travelling with kids too - the hosts have thought of everything you could need to make it a home from home.

It was exceptional! Pierre and Pascal were super cute and hospitable, although we had to check in a little later because we were stuck in traffic. The rooms and the bathroom were beautifully furnished and super clean. The breakfast was in the garden and part homemade from Pierre, it was really delicious. Everything was amazing, we would love to return!

Wow! What an experience we had staying at this beautiful place. I was particularly enthusiastic about the building, structures, and décor throughout the property, truly inspiring to see the level of detail the hosts had achieved in creating this place. Our room was stunning; we especially loved the bathroom with its freestanding bath. I loved that there were fireplaces in almost every room (though not lit, as temperatures were high during our stay). Breakfast was lovely and served at the café on the property with the same attention and care evident throughout the space. I particularly enjoyed the classical music playing in the background. My partner spotted board games scattered around and became an instant fan of the place. But the real surprise came on the second evening of our stay. The host organized an evening with live jazz music and dinner for locals, and we were invited to join! After wandering around the nearby town and participating in a wine tasting (we went to Maison Champy in Beaune, would highly recommend!), we joined the crowd in the courtyard and enjoyed the music as the sun set. Dinner afterward was served in the main hall, once again beautifully decorated, and we sat with two other traveling couples staying at the château. The unexpected company sparked wonderful conversations while we enjoyed our meal, an experience we'll look back on with appreciation. Everything about our stay was wonderful and exceeded all our expectations. Thank you so much!

The house is surrounded by farms, so our little kids enjoyed so much seeing all the animals around. There is playground in the garden of the property, which was so greatly appreciated. The rooms are clean and have anything you can think of including a lot of toys which was a huge help for us.

The food (bfst and dinner) and accommodations were great- highly recommend eating as many dinners as possible in-house, which you must arrange in advance. Jan is a skilled chef, and is pleasant to chat with. We were looking for a quiet village in a quaint and historic setting, which this is, and additionally, it's right on a lovely river. Plenty of nice walking and biking on flat terrain. Church bells at 8 AM, which delightfully prevented us from sleeping through our vacation. Decor is cozy antiques, with good lighting and many options for sitting. Good bathroom facilities and nice shower with good water pressure (filtered, even for showers, since lots of chalk in the local water). Jan has many good recommendations for touristing. We wish we'd had more than 4 days there. Jan is fluent in English, French, German, and Dutch- and perhaps other languages, as well- which makes communications easy. His well behaved dog Lupette was a delight. Area is quiet- no noise from roads or pedestrians. Easy drive to the tourist sights we visited. Good Wifi.

We really enjoyed our stay at la maison du lac. The house and the garden are beautiful and picturesque, and everything was super clean and spotless! Our hosts were adorable and very helpful. We definitely recommend!
