The apartment was perfect for our short visit. The entrance is separate from the Inn. It took only a few minutes to book ourselves in and we were able to go in early as it was ready for us. It was very warm and clean and had everything we needed. Nice and quiet. Comfortable beds. Good parking. Nice view. Would go again. The pub food downstairs was good too, so we didn't have to go far for dinner..

Everyone was incredibly friendly at the Royal Oak. Dinner was very nice, breakfast was terrific. I was traveling solo, walking the Cleveland Way, and the host even gave me a lift over to the trail after breakfast!

From start to finish we loved staying here. We were warmly welcomed. The pod was absolutely beautiful and contained everything we needed. There were so many thoughtful little details to make our stay more comfortable, like an extra blanket, a radio, hot water bottles. The shower was hot and lovely, the breakfast was amazing. I slept like a log. We were even offered a lift to the start of our run the next day. Just lovely.

    Room was well-appointed and clean. Tea and coffee available and plenty of milk too. Evening food was delicious. Good selection of beers. Great location at the foot of Roseberry Topping so ideal for us walking the Cleveland Way. Plenty of car parking. Accommodation block was clean, well-decorated and secure. It was also separate from the main pub/hotel so quiet too.

    The property is spotlessly clean with all essential amenities. It is also cosy and comfortable and is ideally situated in a central, but quiet location. Sky TV is a bonus for entertainment. The welcome pack is also a nice touch. There is plenty to do in the vicinity with walking from the doorstep and attractions such as Ormesby Hall National Trust and the James Herriot museum in Thirsk. We highly recommend this little gem of a place with friendly, welcoming owners.
