We had a wonderful time at Elisas place. Casa Valestra is situated with a gorgeous view over the valley and the back to the Valestra mountain. The apartment is tastefully renovated with high standard in an old farm house. We enjoyed the fireplace and the terrazzo especially. In the morning the breakfast was served with generosity and local flavors. Each morning we got different dishes. Elisas hospitality was extra ordinary. She was generous with gentle attention. We got suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. On her recommendation we took a guided tour at the local Parmegiano Regiano cooperative and a small vinegar factory. Really worth a visit with whole heartedly guides. Our luggage was too heavy on the flight back due to all the cheese, salami and balsamica we brought home. We liked the simple life in Valestra with the friendly locals living there. The apartment was cleaned every day and the bed was made. Like a five star hotel. Our warmest recommendations to Elisa and Casale Valestra. We will surely come back!

The whole asembley has been painstakely restored! Inside and outside it is super well mantained. Everything is so exceptionally clean that even my friend who is extra picky could (for a change) find nothing to complain. Castello di Viano is like a magic little jewel that sits on top of the hill 💗 The place is surrounded on 3 sides by the green hills of Tuscany and to the north you see all the way to the wide plane of the PO. We had a very warm wellcome and such a beautifull stay that made it sad to leave. ... but we will be back!

The location is above the village, some 10 or 15 minute walk up a small road, quiet and peaceful, nearer to the tiny village of Castello than Riolunato. If you have an app on your phone to help you find it then it is a great help. The accommodation is rather sweet, fully equipped should you wish to self cater. The homemade cakes, biscuits, yoghurt etc were superb and very welcome. The bed was very comfortable, The host was very welcoming. There is only the one room so there is no one else to disturb your peace.

If you’re dreaming of pure countryside peace surrounded by emerald-green hills, book Agriturismo Campo del Pillo without a second thought. The location is stunning - exactly the quiet, pastoral setting we were searching for, and it recharged our batteries so completely that we kept extending our stay in our minds. Our room was spotless, neatly arranged, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Each morning began with a generous farmhouse breakfast: fragrant local cheeses, cold cuts, and jams all produced locally and bursting with flavor. Host Fabrizio embodies Italian hospitality. Although we arrived later than planned, he greeted us like old friends and with much care. Later, He personally opened the jacuzzi so we could unwind and relax. Throughout our visit, he checked in with genuine warmth, offered thoughtful tips on hiking trails and village trattorias, and made absolutely sure we lacked for nothing. Campo del Pillo is one of those rare places that feels both homely and special. Perfect for slowing down, breathing deep, and savoring life’s simple pleasures. We recommend it wholeheartedly and already look forward to our return.
