The few days we spent at Bessho Onsen were the best of our 1 month trip in Japan! Everything was great, from the beautiful surroundings to the services included, the private baths and the manager who takes great care of his guests. We had a lovely time, enjoying both nature and the hotel to make the best of this relaxing time. The food is also incredible, especially after a day spent hiking. I highly recommend staying here!

one of the best ryokans we've ever stayed in. good value for money (we went off peak season). staff service was just superb. you have to remove your shoes at the entrance but no worries they provide slippers for you to move around and your shoes will be waiting at the steps when you leave. clogs available if you're venturing out nearby. free yukata for women- yukatas were beautiful. watched youtube on how to wear it. swiss hospitality lost to this ryokan's hospitality. everyone was so helpful, even wiped clean the wheels of our suitcases. rooms were huge. initially was apprehensive because only the smallest room was available and did not see any toilets in the pictures but thankfully the rooms (even the smallest one) were HUGE. onsen quite small but unlike other prefectures, we noticed ppl around here tend to just soak for 10 mins and leave immediately after a soak so turnover was quite fast. food was amazing!

This is an amazing place with wonderful owners who are always very warm, helpful and committed. The hotel has an incredibly atmospheric and very well organized atmosphere. Comfort and quality at the highest level. It was very sad to leave so soon. The comfort of sleep, bedding, pillows is so great that I have never slept so well. I would gladly come back again for a good night's sleep.
