The house is amazing, I was sad that I only spent one night there, it was a great experience to stay in a Japanese house, Assi was very friendly and welcoming, made me feel at home, helped me to get a restaurant as I arrived late, and gave suggestion for my breakfast next morning.I definitely recommend this place. Beautiful private house in a charming small town. The owner, like the rest of the locals, were overwhelmingly kind. Kanoko also left us some deer jerky from their hunting, which was absolutely delicious.

The location of this property is 40 minutes from Magome where we wanted to do the Magome to Tsumago walk. We chanced it in a random regional town and it’s been our most favourite house on our two week trip! The host was super friendly and helpful. The house is a genuine old (but amazing) Japanese house. It was also stocked with food and drinks and local rice to purchase. Would rate this 12/10 if we could!! We’ll be back for sure. Make sure you try the restaurant 50 metre walk down the road, Restaurant 88.

Loved the style of the dorm and the privacy curtains on each bunk and another for the pair. Location was ideal for exploring magome and the nakasendo trail. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were good and clean.

The location is at the beginning trail of Magome to Tsumago. The tatami and futon is comfortable. The property is very clean. Even though the bath is sharing, we avoid the peak hour so that we can shower alone.

The location can’t be beaten. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The provided dinner and breakfast were varied and really tasty! Also the atmosphere was good. The facilities are as good as you can expect from a hostel. The price was very good for what you got. Ideal way to start your trail-hike!

Location was excellent right in the centre of Magome. Dinner was very generous with an unexpectedly great range of local dishes served in a warm and friendly dining room. We were in a room which was spacious and comfortable for us with our two teenagers. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed our one night stay.
