The room size was fantastic for families and we really appreciated the shared spaces since we were traveling with friends. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the mountain, bakery for breakfast and the onsen. During our visit there was more snow on the neighboring mountains that we drove to. Overall highly recommend hotel due to the great location.

There are too many good things to say about Kobayashiya. The staff was very welcoming and helpful - they even helped us when we couldn't figure out our yukatas. Our room was spacious and comfortable - but the best part is that it had a small porch overlooking the street/canal area where everyone was walking to and from the onsens. We only stayed for one night, but we wish we could have stayed here for 2 or 3 nights.

We were there for our honeymoon and loved pretty much everything about our stay there. The property is so well renovated with clear wooden floors, the rooms are impeccably clean, the staff and especially Iwasaki-San took such good care of us. And the food is excellent, we got to discover even more Japanese specialties. We will remember this trip forever!

It was the most memorable hotel stay in my life and best birthday away from home hands down. Thanks to some blogger who went to this hotel for their honeymoon I was able to research and plan my stay way in advance . My actual experience exceeded any expectations and probably ruined every other hotel stay I will have .     Good location - at the far end of town, so a little out the way if you need to walk, but close to the cable way and a nice pretty quiet part of town. Private onsen was great. Staff were very friendly - although no-one could really talk English, but they tried. In general it was very clean, quiet and as described.

    While not a typical ryokan, the location and price are very nice for Kinosaki. The room is very barebones, but the bed itself is comfy. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is nice. The room is quiet, and tucked away from the cafe / street below. You can rent a yukata for free, and they supply you with a rental towel and hand towel for the onsens. If you are planning on just going to any number of the seven public onsens, this is an affordable choice,

    The hotel is a great place to stay in Kinosaki Onsen. It's right accross the train station and very close to the baths, restaurants and shops. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Not having a shower is not a problem at all since there are so many cheap baths very close. The managers were very friendly and helpful.
