We had an amazing stay at Monte do Roque. It was the perfect place for a peaceful vacation after spending some days in Lisbon. The B&B is located on a farm surounded by fields with oak trees so we were able to go on some nice walks and hang out with the animals on the farm (thanks Veronique for letting us help out with the animals here and there ☺️). Veronique and Tom were great hosts, making you feel like a part of the family! They also had some great suggestions for day trips so we had a lot of fun discovering the nearby towns. The rooms were nicely decorated and the breakfast was great as well, it had everything we needed. We are looking forward to coming back in Summer and see how they improved further (and try out the pool as well since it was still a bit too cold)

Set in a quiet location, but within reasonable distance of a number of places we wanted to visit: a perfect ‘hub and spoke’ setting. The house had all the facilities we required, and parking on site (just a few metres from the front door). The only downside for a six foot/185 cm male was that some of the doorways were low: but I managed to avoid hitting them! The communication with the hosts was terrific, and the welcoming package (over and above what is advertised) was much appreciated. We were lucky to meet Carlos on our last day and enjoyed an engaging conversation - as well as some oranges and lemons!

Beautiful breakfast buffet. We also had dinner at the convent and it was very good with a wonderful wine from the area. The property itself is jaw-droppingly beautiful, with many original features from the 12th C. It is very beautiful.

One felt the love invested in the property and the vacationers by the caretakers. Octavio went above and beyond, so personable, and helped everywhere we needed. The farm is amazing and the animals very well cared for. The beds were super comfortable- we slept so well!

We had a wonderful time at Pousada Castelo de Estremoz! It was the best of our Pousada-tour through Alentejo, absolut a classic one with a beautiful atmosphere! And not renovated to death!!! The room was top,the beds perfect and also the service. We loved the hidden spaces in that building: the tower and the secret chapel on the first floor :) and of course the destination, everything could be done by walking. Highest recommendation – we are coming back! p.s.: stunning breakfast in a stunning room!
