We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is pure wilderness, surrounded by nature, with breathtaking, unpolluted night skies full of stars. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. Al has amazing stories about wine and offers a great wine tasting experience, while Ana prepares delicious meals and is super helpful with tips on what to see in the area. The design of the place is stunning, the mattresses and bedding are top-notch, and everything feels truly first-class. It’s a unique spot, definitely worth visiting. We highly recommend it! Gisela and Tiago are excellent hosts. They looked after all our needs and provided us recommendations for local hikes (including on their own large property, with their German Shepherd, Jonas, as a guide) and restaurants, served delicious breakfasts to our room and were always available to answer questions or to simply chat. The property, set in a park reserve, is scenic and serene. The room is rustic and comfortable, with open wood beams and equipped with a cooktop, refrigerator, pots and pans and cutlery. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The deck outside the room overlooks a forest. Gisela and Tiago strive to live in an ecologically friendly way, close to nature, and rely mainly on solar power. We highly recommend Herdade da Maceira.

    Great little guest house in the centre of Odemira. Nice courtyard. Huge bedroom. Wonderful breakfast which was a perfect start for a day's hike on the Rota Vincentina. Nice touches such as the honesty bar. Very clean and comfortable. Can't fault it!
