    The herdade is isolated from everything, a quiet location in Alentejo, near Portel. Rooms are new and very confortable and they managed to keep some sense of rural originality when renewing the facilities to have some 10-12 rooms to rent. Nice pool area, great spot for relaxing (there's not much, if anything, to do there so one needs to go on relax mood). Breakfast was very nice and staff were friendly and very attentive. Price is fair.

    Beautiful location on the hill with amazing views. A sense of calm and quiet to relax. you have to drive about 3km our of Portel on unmade road to get to the property which is part of a working farm . The room was a good size and furnished in quaint traditional style. Manuela was a lovely host and we really appreciated her flexibility for us to have an early breakfast on departure. Breakfast was superb .

    Hosts: delightful. Room: unique, spotless, and comfortable. Surroundings: lush. Goats, sheep, and puppies: adorable. Meals: delicious. Location: a bit out of the way but worth the drive. In all, a memorable stay. Obrigado, Herdade Vale de Cabras.

    Newly furnished, high-quality and nicely designed apartment. Kitchen has literally everything one might need there. Neat location close to the castle and city centre. Free parking on the square near the apartment entrance. Food truck with fresh products periodically stops at the square. In 5 minutes driving there’s quite big Intermarché supermarket that also features 24h wash&dry self-service. Friendly neighbours. The owner’s welcome and support are very warm and generous.
