Dar Hi is an exceptional building located on an exceptional site overlooking a courbeil/valley of palm trees and the small town of Nefta. It is a stark architectural proposition that aims to redefine a hotel stay as contributing to and reflecting community life. Whether it succeeds in doing so is difficult to establish. We were the only guests in the hotel. It is however a great ambition. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with fresh fruit, pancakes, cheese, eggs etc. The evening dinner simple, fresh and tasteful. It was the beginning of December and the temperature was a bit too cold to use the outside pool. The communal spaces have exceptional views and so have the rooms. My husband very much liked reading while lying on a lounge bed overlooking the courbeil. We both liked sitting in front of the open fire in the communal area. the bed was comfortable and the shower great. We think it is great for small group stays while exploring the region.

Beautiful authentic house with a lovely courtyard, good equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice comfortable living room in a quiet part of Tozeur. Moustapha was very helpful and kind, all the tours he organised for us were absolutely amazing and started on time, we felt very much at home and we’ll be back any time soon.

Staying here is like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert.. magical. Everything was great. Beautiful decor with an artistic touch , neat and tidy , ample towels for shower and swimming , personal attention from the staff , comfortable beds , spacious room, plugs at your bed to charge your phone, strong water pressure in the shower and strong air conditioning. It’s quiet and peaceful with zero noise from the bustling town yet you are a 10min walk from the Medina. We arrived on the public holiday for their prophets birthday and were treated to the special dessert that all Tunisians eat on this day. Breakfast was a treat with our table set up outside under the trees and for the coffee lovers , great coffee. I highly recommend staying here.

This hotel was beautiful and quiet and we loved staying here among all the date palms. We had a lovely dinner by the pool, which would have been nice for swimming in warmer weather. Wish we'd had time to use the cinema room as well!

We stayed a couple of nights in April and had the greatest time ever. Tayeb is a really kind host and a superb cook. He knows the Tozeur area and the country inside out and really cares about providing his hosts with a true Tunisian experience.

If you ever find yourself wanting to visit the utterly charming desert town of Tozeur (which you absolutely should), there is only one place you should spend your time. At the Dar Amina you will find everything you could possibly want. Clean, nicely furnished rooms, a pool in summer and a house that even the locals say is the most beautiful in the entire medina. The staff and house The owner was really kind and friendly. He speaks really good English so you don’t have to worry about the language barrier. Of course, the house was nice and clean. The atmosphere at the house was comfortable!!!

Dear Fatima is a beautiful brand new guest house. European standards prevail here and everything is in top condition. The owner and staff are professional and also very welcoming. They offer a good Tunisian dinner at an extra cost which is great if you don’t fancy venturing into the local streets to find a safe supper. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt very relaxed and comfortable. Thank you 🙏

Mahdi is a great host. Good (english) communication through WhatsApp and he met us at the property to welcome us and gave us some tips for restaurants and activities. Make sure you ask him for his tours in Tozeur! It's amazing to visit the oases around the area. We visited the local carpenter that built all of the wooden furniture you see in the pictures and followed Mahdi's recommendations for a great tunesian dinner. The house is very big and comfortable. Good wifi, clean, decent shower and bathroom and a useful kitchen. There is a nespresso machine but you will have to find some capsules in a Carrefour. We just used the instant coffee from the local street shop.
