I stayed at this hostel during my trip to Zanzibar, and I honestly couldn’t believe the quality I got for the price. From the moment I arrived, the staff were super friendly and welcoming—they really go out of their way to make you feel at home. They helped me with everything from booking tours to recommending local spots to eat, and they always had a smile on their faces. The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean, air-conditioned, and very cozy. After a long day exploring or chilling by the sea, coming back to such a comfortable and cool room was a treat. You can tell the place is well-maintained and that they really care about keeping it nice for guests. The location is just perfect—it’s literally just a few steps from the beach and would walk out every morning for a quick dip or to watch the sunrise. The whole vibe of the place is super chill and relaxed, with hammocks and little corners to read or just hang out. It was the perfect balance of social and peaceful. What surprised me most is how cheap it was compared to the value you get. Honestly, I’ve paid way more in other places and didn’t get half the quality. If you’re traveling to Zanzibar and want a great stay without blowing your budget, this place is an absolute gem. PS. This place is really safe as well! U could leave ur stuff the whole day and come back finding them untouched! Would 100% stay here again!

Amazing resort with a stunning view to the ocean and private pool and so peaceful. The staff all of them but especially Godfrey were very kind to us. The accommodation always provided a private cab, when we needed one. The food in the restaurant was good but not great. I want to say thank you to all the staff for the amazing hospitality and great vacation, definitely coming back.

The staff are exceptional—friendly, helpful, and always with a smile. Their positive attitude and attention to detail make you feel truly welcome. The owner of hotel made our stay in Zanzibar truly special. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed. His local knowledge and willingness to share tips and experiences about Zanzibar made our trip even more enjoyable. He also helped us arrange excursions and taxis. One of the best features is the access to owners another hotel just 1 km away along a beautiful beach, where guests can enjoy a swimming pool, a great restaurant, and lively parties. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-designed, and hospitable place to stay right by the stunning Nungwi Beach, Dhow Boutique Hotel is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

The owners were amazing, they made us feel at home and recommended places to go and to eat which was great. We felt very well looked after. The breakfast was so good and everywhere was well maintained and clean. Only a 6 minutes walk to kendwa beach and 10 minutes in a taxi to Nungwi. We loved staying here!

This is the best place you could stay in Nungwi. The hotel is excellent, with hot water all time, clean rooms, facilities, very good wifi connection and air conditioner. The location is gorgeous, near the beach and near the shops, breakfast is not the same every day and is big and tasteful. The manager and the staff are really wonderful persons. Paul is remarkable. They helped us with many things we needed. We felt here better than in Marriott...Everything is new...and the people from here make you feel very welcomed and important for them! I do recommend this hotel to everyone wants to be treated in the most beautiful way and to have a very, very nice holiday! Thank you for all you did for us! We can't wait to come back!
