I wasn’t expecting much when I booked, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, with tasteful décor and a very comfortable bed. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, and the lobby always smelled fresh and inviting. The location made sightseeing easy, though the street noise could be heard at night. I stayed here for three nights on my solo trip, and honestly, I loved everything. The room was super clean, the bed was comfy, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect (a big plus for me!). As a frequent guest of the excellent Grand Hotel du Lac in Hanoi, I very much looked forward to my stay here - and wow, did they outdo themselves at their new hotel in Ho Chi Minh City!!! This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The service is just as top notch as in Hanoi - so attentive, so kind, and so much from the heart. The decor, however, is really one of a kind - it blends historic and modern touches to develop its very own style. The hotel is so beautiful that it becomes a piece of art very much worth a visit. Rooms are really comfortable - great bedding and many thoughtful little details. The breakfast also outdoes the amazing Hanoi original by expanding the incredible range of tasty options even further, both in the buffet and the a la carte hot dishes. Coffee is fantastic, too. The location is equally perfect, next to the new subway and close to many Michelin recommended restaurants and top end stores. The Grand Hotel du Lac certainly is my favourite hotel in Vietnam!
