Mele guest house was inside the old town and only few min walk from Old Bazar. An excellent choice if you are visiting Gjirokastër. The owner and his wife were very welcoming, and we enjoyed the breakfast with the superb view at the balcony.

The house is charming and very well cared for, and the rooms are nicely decorated, squeaky clean, and spacious. Very lovely family, friendly and attentive to your every need. In the morning we were treated to a great breakfast, with eggs, fruits, and local dishes, juice, tea, coffee included. Not to mention the nice view from the terrace where the breakfast is served. It is a pity we stayed only for 1 night, I would love to stay longer. The location is great if you are a pedestrian and a bit of a nightmare if you are driving a car. Getting there on narrow steep brick roads was a challenge, but when we got stuck, they came to our help, leading us through the street labyrinth. It is a short walk uphill to the castle, while the bazaar and restaurants are just around the corner.
