Built in 1853 and right on the picturesque Fürstenweg, a small path leading to Neuschwanstein Castle, Gutshof zum Schluxen enjoys a quiet location in the middle of fields with grazing cows and horses, and Queen Marie von Bayern stayed here with her sons Ludwig and Otto. Füssen and Reutte are only a 10-minute drive away. Beautiful location, very easy to access from Füssen just over the boarder, nice tidy clean room inside a traditional converted farmhouse. Love the animals (horses, goats) all around the property in the fields. Very quiet and comfortable. They even have free massage chairs to use in a spa room, we didn’t use the sauna or jet jacuzzi style baths (the weather was hot) but I’m sure they are also good! Nice and quiet, good nights sleep.

And having a direct view of the Neuschwanstein castle was a highlight too - it was the first thing we saw in the morning and one of the last things at night. Breakfast was tasty too, and every request we had was fulfilled quickly and in a really friendly way. Wherever we’re back in the region we’ll be staying here again.
