There was an amazing lady at reception on our check out day (my apologies for forgotten your name, dear kind and amazing lady) who helped us with the tourist cards for the bus and she reccomended us where to and visit! The only hotel to stay at whenever in Locarno.

Built in the 1890s, this historic hotel was one of the first hotels in Lauterbrunnen. The family-run Hotel Staubbach offers panoramic views of the Staubbach Falls and Lauterbrunnen Valley. It is located 600 metres from the Lauterbrunnen station and offers free parking and free Wi-Fi. Wow what a location! Thank you to Adam, Tristan, Maria & the whole Hotel Staubbach team who went above & beyond for us during our short stay in Lauterbrunnen. Everything was great. We could not fault this place. They take care of their guests & gave us guidance of where to eat & what to do whilst we were there. We had to check out early & they had taken the time to make us sandwiches & snacks since we would miss the breakfast service the following morning. Hotel Jägerhof enjoys a quiet location close to the centre of Zermatt, a 5-minute walk from the Klein Matterhorn cable car. It has a gym and offers free WiFi.

The rooms have a flat-screen TV with many international channels. The Matterhorn can be seen from some of the rooms. Staff very friendly. There was a huge storm during my stay . No electricity no trains for 3 days. I missed my plane home. However the hotel owner, family and staff went out of their way to make things as comfortable as possible for everyone . Even cooking delicious soup on outside fire so we could have something hot to eat by candlelight.
