The hostel has a lovely view, expect Ara's and many multicolored birds in the backyard snacking from the banana's. The owner Maria is so warm and friendly, and there are 2 lovely dogs who want to be friends with you as soon as you arrive. The facilities in the kitchen are very good. Everything is super clean and tidy, value for money is superb!

Not only because of the food, it was very good and gluten free for me, which can be complicate sometimes, but mostly because of the mother. The is a beautiful soul, full of love and kindness. It's the baby of a CR artist who bought the land in the 80s. His artist friends all wanted to come and visit, so he had to make more room. All by himself and his friends. And then more artists from all over came, helped with the build and left their mark everywhere- murals, sculpures, whatever. And I have this from the horse's mouth, as we had the privilege to meet both the owner and his grandson in person. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall back then...And the drive up there is amazing as well. This place is mindblowing.

Juan Santamaría International Airport is 88 km from the property. We loved our stay in this remote haven in the middle of the rain forest, surrounded by amazing hiking trails. It is rustic, but comfortable, and we enjoyed the chance to get to know the other guests. Our guided walks were outstanding and we saw an amazing array of frogs, birds and insects . It may not be for those who seek luxury, but it is definitely for those who seek authenticity. We’ll be back.
