We saw more species of coral and fish than we have anywhere else, as 97% of Bunaken Marine Park is underwater. The resort is into sustainability and gives you a free cup of coffee if you collect a bag of plastic. We enjoyed playing pool at the outdoor pool table, as well as long walks around the island. When it is low tide, one can walk all the way around the entire island. A short walk to a nearby pier provides you with a gorgeous sunset every evening. We would absolutely love to come back to Kuda Laut one day.

All the bungalows in this small resort are in a pretty tropical garden and all face the sea (this is not the case with other places on the island). We had a standard and a superior bungalow and both were lovely. Each has a private terrace and hammock to relax on. The food was delicious, fresh and I greatly appreciated the vegetarian options. The resort has direct access to the beach and snorkeling was amazing just walking out from the beach. All the diving and snorkeling outings are well organised by the team there. My son undertook two introductory dives with a wonderful diving instructor and felt safe and cared for the whole time. The staff are lovely. Overall a well kept and managed resort and we would have loved to stay longer.

The accommodation was very comfortable, with great amenities and a great view of nature. Yuli and Mehdi are incredible hosts who make you feel right at home. I had some amazing dives, and the professional instructors made the experience even better. I also enjoyed making friends and having fun conversations with other guests at the bar. To top it off, the food at the restaurant was amazing. Both the local and international options were very delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Very friendly, caring and welcoming family. Everybody was super helpful and they provided great tips on what to do in Tomohon. Everything was very clean. Wesley, the son of owner Sharon works as a guide and gave us an amazing tour.

All guest rooms at the accommodation feature air conditioning and a desk. We had a fantastic stay at Birding Lodge Tangkoko, right on the edge of Tangkoko National Park. The lodge is owned and run by a local family, and they made us feel completely at home. The staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The Indonesian food was delicious, fresh, and a real highlight after long days out in the forest. The wildlife guides were outstanding. They know the forest inside and out. We did full-day bird tours and were able to see so many of Tangkoko’s incredible endemic birds and mammals. The guides helped us capture great views of hornbills, dwarf kingfishers, tarsiers, bear cuscus and macaques, and many other species. The accommodation was clean, the beds very comfortable, and the air-conditioning was a welcome relief after a hot day of birding and exploring. If your goal is to experience the wildlife of Tangkoko—whether general wildlife tours or full-day birding trips—we highly recommend Birding Lodge Tangkoko and Ardy’s team of guides.
