Great value for a hostal style accommodation in a ski resort. The bunks are double size with warm blankets. The bath downstairs is a welcome retreat after skiing if you don’t fancy the 7 min walk to the local onsen. Well worth it. Check which one with Rio. I originally planned to stay just a short while, but it felt so peaceful and welcoming that I ended up extending my stay. There was so much to explore in the area. I discovered the three sacred mountains of Haguro, Gassan, and Yudono, part of the Dewa Sanzan, and I wanted to experience them all. The traditional accommodation was simple, beautiful, and full of charm .Bus stop and great food spot just across the street. I truly didn’t want to leave. What made it even more special were the two amazing women who run the place with such kindness and care. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I will never forget my time here.

It is Japanese style mixed with some western, there are juices, tea, coffee and desserts. The staff serving breakfast was very polite and neat. What we like best is the private room Japanese dinner which we enjoyed for the 3 nights. Very exclusive and different night, different menu. On our last night our dinner was changed from 2nd floor to the 10 floor which allow us to see the night scene of this little town. I highly recommend this for family or honey moon couple. We booked 3 rooms and requested for our rooms to be next to one another and the hotel helped us with this request. The Onsen in this Ryoken was clean and comfortable both indoor and outdoor. Walking from Tendo station to here is about 15 mins. The room is super comfortable, clean, shower and WC separated, well furnished in Japanese style. If I have a chance, will return.

Really nice quiet hotel, the staff was incredibly friendly (Thank you again for your warm welcome). The room was big and comfy. Breakfast was tasty and the common room was lovely decorated. Close to the hotel there are a few restaurants if you want to have dinner outside.

The view was absolutely breathtaking, and everything was designed for comfort and relaxation—an electric barbecue, a warm outdoor bath, and even a fully stocked fridge with a delicious homemade dinner and breakfast ready for us. What truly made it magical was the subtle care: the next morning, while we were away, they quietly collected the used items and restocked the fridge with a fresh dinner—like little invisible fairies making sure everything remained perfect without ever disturbing our peace. This place is perfect for anyone looking to disconnect, reconnect with nature, or enjoy a romantic escape. I still don’t know the name of the kind man who greeted us each morning with a warm smile, but I want to sincerely thank him—his presence made our stay even more special. I can only recommend R;MOGAMI with all my heart.
