Thambu illam was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka! I felt at home and comfortable. The staff were amazing including the night time security, Joseph, who kept us company and shared his story while we stayed up past midnight. Mathu the manager checked in with us when we didn’t arrive on time for our booking and he responded quickly to messages. The supervisor was exceptionally helpful and got us almost anything we requested for our meals. Thambu illam brings you a feeling of being in your ancestral home and the little details they paid attention makes it even magical. We will definitely come back here to stay with our family on our next trip.

Hotel was new and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. And they whipped up a delicious breakfast based on what we wanted. Recommended!

It's a beautiful place, the host is really lovely and caring. They even arrange pick up if needed. We got a welcome drink, drinking water was provided, and the host gave us many recommendations for where to get food and what to do in the area.

L’établissement Borassus Nature Huts by ABC Leisure's group se trouve à Jaffna, à respectivement 8,8 km et 10 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Jaffna Fort et Jaffna Public Library. A wonderful experience here. Quite remote and next to a sleepy fishing village, the huts have been lovingly constructed using local materials. They are open to the elements, which allows the fresh ocean breeze to blow through (quite strongly at times!) and keep the rooms cool. Mosquito nets are provided, although we didn’t see any mosquitoes - but still offers protection from various bugs that visit at night, and the pesky flies during the daytime. Some of the huts have steep stairs to access the bedroom upstairs, while the bathroom and toilet are situated separately downstairs (not recommended for the elderly or disabled). However, three new huts have recently opened, that are ground level and have attached bathrooms. The whole place has been built with regard to ecological concerns. The staff (also hired locally) are wonderful and there is a very talented young chef named Ashwin who, in addition to preparing delicious meals, acts as a general manager in the absence of the owner. The property also has its own tuk tuk, which is handy for trips around the island or to Jaffna (29 km away). We would definitely recommend a stay here - it’s a totally different and unique experience, among lovely hospitable people.

The cabins are basic but clearly made with a lot of love, and include many little features that makes them quite comfy. Direct access to the beach and the see and the food provided was also great.

L’hébergement Lone Star Residence propose un jardin et une terrasse. The house owner Mr Biren Mahendran is very cooperative when booking the house. And the location is very peaceful, beautiful and secure. Well sufficient for a family or a group. Rooms are well cleaned and furniture are modern. Having a modern kitchen with all the necessary equipment. Really enjoyed the stay. The caretaker Mr Kerthi was very much helpful and he's fluent in Sinhala and English. Worth the money. Located in 550m away from Jaffna-KKS road and 9.5 Km away from Jaffna.
