The hotel was fantastic - amazing facilities and lovely staff. It was the perfect location to explore some of the area too - so nice to be near a supermarket and other food places whilst also being in a quiet area down by the river. We got to see a crocodile by the river from the hotel garden!! The pool was great - made for a very relaxing fun place to come back to. The gym had good facilities and it was nice that there were outside weights. Great breakfast too. The staff brought us mango lassi and beer to our room one evening too. Room was super comfortable - great shower and ac.

Yakaduru Yala is located on the buffer Zone of Yala National Park. It's just 5 minutes away from the Yala National Park Entrance. We walked through bush, rock, and lake areas at Yakaduru, savoring the diverse environment. How nice is that environment? When we see a lake with crocodiles, then again, we see a dry bush area, and we see a rough rock area. We felt the difference in Yakaduru's environment as we walked through bush walks. It's a traditional tour package, and we experienced safari and camping there. We could see how they roasted BBQ for us outdoors. So, we were excited to gain more and more varied experiences continuously. Rooms are small but sufficient, with all facilities. They resemble clean, pretty village houses. We felt like we were in a traditional world, living a village life. It's a great experience that you must have.

Madu the resort owner and his wonderful staff Nisal, Mahesh, Sampath and the outstanding Chef Indika looked after us like family. The fruit and tasty cooked food for dinner is all local produce. The rooms are very modern and spacious with all mod cons required. For a trip to the National Reserve Safari park. Madu can arrange everything for a full day or half day safari. We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

New Cormorant Lake Resort provided an excellent experience from start to finish. The host graciously guided us around the lake at no extra cost, sharing his extensive knowledge about the local animals and plants. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, even welcoming us with a drink upon arrival. The room was clean, nice, simple, and comfortable, providing just what we needed for a relaxing stay. The surroundings of the resort are beautiful and bring you close to nature. I highly recommend New Cormorant Lake Resort for anyone seeking a good accommodation close to Yala National Park.

We have chosen this accommodation to go to Yala park for a safari and it was an amazing surprise. The host family took care about us in every aspect of our stay. The room was perfectly cleaned and they offered us an amazing Sri Lankan dinner. Also the surrounding area full of culture, history and animals!

Udara was really friendly and helpful. The service he provided was amazing. He helped with the safari booking and made sure everything was arranged perfectly, so the tickets were booked in advance, and we didn't have to wait in line. The house was clean and comfortable and had a washing machine we could use.

Amazing dinner with magical atmosphere, Saw a little crocodile even. Attention to details of this place and level of service is at the highest level. I really enjoyed the smell and quality of linen and towels. And they do have hot water showers now (which we didn’t expect due to the reviews)
