The cabin itself had a kitchen with everything you need to cook, but the local pizza place will also deliver food, if you can't be bothered. We did book also a 3 hour horse carridge ride with dinner included which the lodge offers on their website. You can even book it online. We can highly recommend a stay here and also the sledge ride. Oh, and the jacuzzi on the terrace is super romantic!

We particularly enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, which were perfect for soothing sore muscles. The food at the hotel was also excellent, with a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We appreciated the effort put into accommodating our dietary needs and preferences. What really set this hotel apart, however, was the attention paid to families with children. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient with our kids, and went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. They provided extra snow suits and boots for the kids, which was very helpful, and even had a special menu with kid-friendly options. Our children loved playing in the snow and exploring the nearby forest, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were safe and happy. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel on the Alta River for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Norway. The staff, facilities, and location are all top-notch, and the attention paid to families with children really made our stay special. We hope to return someday and experience it all again!

Staying at Holmen Husky is an experience far away from staying at an ordinary hotel. We want our guests to get closer to nature and to get a taste of what it is like to live close to the elements.

Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Everything was over my expectations. The lodge is beautiful, exactly like in the pictures, the dogs are cute, the staff very friendly.
