The host greeted us upon our arrival late at night and happily shared about all the exceptional amenities. Beautiful shared space for a short stay with a beautiful ocean view and access to an inviting swimming pool. We did not make the time to enjoy the pool on this visit; next time. The space was well organized with bins to store food items and access to fridge space on a nice outdoor veranda overlooking plush trees and a spectacular view of the ocean. Thank you for a wonderful first stop on the island. Great first impression!

The owner is very attentive to make your stay comfortable and provides all those kind of stuff and treats that can help you feel at home. The house is very clean, even the shared bathroom. You have access to the living room to watch tv or make yourself some tea/coffe or you can rest in the porch. Breakfast is every day a surprise, prepared with fresh ingredients and creativity.

A very special place to stay - close to the beach, very remote, sleep with the sound of nature and a lovely hot tub to boot.

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure the guests had a nice experience. The hostel itself is a very unique structure built on lava fields. Definitely one of the most interesting hostels I’ve ever stayed at.

The lodge provides guests with a terrace, garden views, a seating area, satellite flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and a stovetop, and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Some units have a balcony and/or a patio with mountain views. The seclusion of the cabin amongst the garden/trees and the excellent keypad locking arrangements meant that we didn't see anyone: owners or the occupants of the neighbouring lodge during our stay so it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we knew the owners were closeby and easy to contact. Also, thoughtful little details, like the excellent Big Island travel guidebook in the cabin. Also, the filtered rainwater was delicious!
