With panoramic views of Durban, Southey House is located in Kloof. This elegant and colonial-style home features a manicured garden with outdoor pool. Mafute was a wonderful hostess: friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast selection was extensive and very tasty. Southey House exceeded my expectations - it felt more like a retreat/ spa than a B&B. The decor and furnishings are elegant, yet homely. I enjoyed a drink while taking in the view from the super comfy verandah sofa. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the electric blanket was a boon, as was the freestanding bath. Coffee, tea, sugar, a kettle, bar fridge, tv and desk added to the room's convenience.
