Breakfast was really good, it was buffet style with a lot of diversity of meals. The hotel even offers a lot of additional free stuff if you need some, like a shoe dryer, bicycle, iron, air cleaner, additional pillow, towel, night wear, etc. The common area is a nice, good place to chill. Capsule bed was quite nice and there was enough space to leave your belongings (there was a small locker inside the capsule) and a big locker in the next room.

Stairs are quite steep but it didn’t bother us, although it might be difficult for elderly or people with mobility issues. We loved our stay at Watowa and we would love to e to stay again when we’re next in Yunotsu.

The capsule hotel features a sauna, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi throughout the property. Capsules were on their own separate floor away from the locker room and the bath house, which allowed it to be kept quiet and dark. The locker room was very sizable, plenty of space to keep all your stuff and change. There were bathrooms on every floor (three floors - 5th floor is locker rooms / front desk and some bathrooms, 4th floor is capsules / bathrooms and an area to charge devices and read, 6th floor is the bathhouse (showers, onsen, cold dip, wet sauna, dry sauna) along with an area to hang out to drink water and have beers and watch tv. Men only, going about and relaxing and recovering. Really sets a mood that I do not get to feel often, but it was comfortable and nice. Also, extremely close to the Fukuyama train station for access to both JR and Shinkansen. The staff was always extremely nice, showing me where things were, and answering my questions. They even hung onto my bag during the day after I checked out so that I could ride the Shimanami Kaido without needing to find a place to keep my bags.
