Gion, Kyoto
Just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station, The Millennials Kyoto offers capsule units with modern decor. The property offers free WiFi in all areas and for an additional cost, bicycle rentals are available. Staff was really great in both locations: Tokyo and Kyoto. In Tokyo the staff helped me find a doctor and in both locations staff helped with the taxi. Really nice and very good English. About the hotel: the rooms are ventilated which is great for a good night sleep. Bathrooms are just spotless. Extremely clean. Towels can be changed after each use. I like that the restrooms are separated from the showers and there are plenty of sinks. Shower rooms are perfect size. You even have a designed area where to leave your clothes. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioners are premium quality. Location: excellent! Walkable distance to Gion and to the subway station. Loads of restaurants and shops around the area. Everything was top! If I ever go back to Japan I know where I'm staying.

The bed was big and comfortable, the AC worked really well (which is really important this time of the year!) The bathroom was a good size and the size of the room was above average for Japanese standards. Staff were friendly and checking in was easy, you can also drop your bags off early if required. There is an amazing miso ramen shop on the corner of the street from the hotel, some of the best ramen I've had! The cheapest hotel we've found in Japan and easily one of the best in terms of standards as well
Well equipped, quiet, conveniently located, budget friendly. Responsive and helpful host.
Affordable but decent hotel with a sort-of traditional Japanese aesthetic. The room we got was a bit more spacious than expected. Toilet was separate from the bath. The hotel location is convenient as it was near Yasaka Shrine, Kenninji Temple, a lot of restaurants and the Gion-Shijo train station. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly!
The breakfast was excellent. There was a variety of Western breakfast foods as well as Japanese. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped me with my bags. They answered any questions I had. The location is only a few minute walk from Kyoto Station so it is very convenient in terms if location as well.
The room was very comfortable and quite spacious by Japanese standards. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a coin-operated washing machine available. The location is quiet and convenient for transport.
Staff was friendly, some could speak really good english. Rooms were pretty decent. Lots of laundry machines and even a pretty cheap drink vending machine, which was very convenient. The location was really great, right next to the famous geisha street. Also really central in Kyoto so you where pretty much downtown with lots of things also well into the night.
A friendly greeting and tour upon arrival by staff. A small hostel which could be described more as a capsule hotel. Far superior to traditional hostels. The location requires bus/subway to reach almost all of the tourist locations in Kyoto but if you are like me it allows the chance to explore a more residential area. The area is surrounded by lovely bakeries and cafes.
The hotel is very conveniently located very close to Kyoto’s main railway station. Staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming with good English spoken throughout. Like most Japanese hotels both the room and the hotel generally, were spotlessly clean. The room was a good size for single occupancy. The adjoining restaurant to the hotel provided an excellent, varied buffet breakfast. Other facilities provide within the hotel included vending machines, laundromat and a spa bath area.
