We stayed with a 1 yo baby, who enjoyed the garden and the pool. A comfortable crib was also provided. A great breakfast was freshly made every morning. It’s a bit distant from the city, so make sure you have a car. Overall, highly recommended, will do again.

Shanti is a little haven of perfect tranquility and only a few meters from the beach. Our room was spacious, clean with thoughtful decor and accessories including some interesting books. I loved the individual paintings both inside and out. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. We arrived extremely early without warning and were offered breakfast immediately which was above and beyond but extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. They had our room ready for us within a few minutes so that we could enjoy our day around the pool. Mr Luis welcome was terrific and it was lovely to meet Manni the owner and share some of his abounding energy. We would highly recommend staying at Shanti and will certainly rebook next time we are back in El Paredon.

Not regarding the rooms, those are very basic (but clean) and have a roof which is open on the side so all kind of insects might get into your room (we only had one moth one night visiting us but the mosquito nets help to keep them generally out of your bed). But what is outstanding is the hospitality and the kindness of the owner Martha and her family. You really feel part of the family and everybody is supportive here. Yes, you need a Kayak or a Lancha to get somewhere, but this is no big deal and there is enought to do around the hostel using those for more than 2 full days (e.g. Tiger Cave and Livingston). But you can also just relax since the view is stunning (especially the sunset). Additionally they offer food and drinks (and free water) for a very reasonable price and if you require anything they will try to help.
