Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City.

The place was very clean , the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Each of the suites at Black Rhino Game Lodge is air conditioned and has a private bathroom with free toiletries. We were supposed to do a game drive at 16.30 but we were traveling from Pretoria and our ETA was too close to the drive time. We informed them about our ETA and they arranged to move our game drive to 17.00. All the staff were lovely and check-in was a breeze. The lodge sits on a fabulously lush property with a watering hole nearby for animal watching. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with 4(!!!) shower options AND a welcome gift basket filled with snacks, biltong, fruits and a bottle of award-winning wine. There was an endless stream of delicious food and snacks, and the chef personally greeted each table at dinner. And the highlight of our stay was the game drives with our fantastic ranger Clifford. We wish we had stayed longer and are looking forward to coming back in the future.

With Black Rhino Game Lodge reachable in 1.6 km, Umoya Safari Lodge provides accommodation, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a shared lounge. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Everything about the experience at Umoya was exceptional. The pre-arrival communication was fantastic. The staff during our stay were incredibly helpful, friendly and seemed proud of their job. The food was top notch (thanks David and Happy!). The setting is amazing and the photos don’t do the rooms or communal spaces justice. We did two game drives over our stay and Rassie was equal parts friendly and knowledgable.

Situated 3.3 km from Black Rhino Game Lodge, Pangolin Game Lodge - Self Catering, incl 2 game drives per day offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Emma our guide was amazing and made the trip! The accommodation is beautiful, clean, and spacious.

Located in Matlhagame, Makanyane Lodge provides accommodation with a private pool, a patio and garden views. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The holiday home has an outdoor fireplace and wellness packages. The lodge itself is out of this world. The layout of it means it's can easily accommodate a large group of people but still provides privacy. Each room had an outdoor shower in addition to the indoor one which was amazing! We loved the boma area and spent the evening sat around with a few drinks. The game drives were great. We didn't get to see any cats, but we're fortunate enough to see lots of other animals, including some black rhino and a random hippo on our drive out after check out!

Whether you're going as a huge family or just a honeymoon couple, it is accustomed to every one of your needs. The location is magical, the facilities and rooms are clean and beautiful. All staff are the kindest people. So sweet, warm, and giving. Ranger Ryan made our trip. He was our everything :) Day or night, he was ready to take us on a game drive. And pretty much made sure we were always comfortable. There is no doubt in my mind that we are coming back. Thank you for the most unbelievable experience. Camille & Acher

The layout of the property suits our family very well - enough private space as well as enough communal space. The property design and decor is 5 star. The staff are friendly, attentive and quietly discrete. Elsabe is an excellent game ranger and goes the extra mile to make everybody happy and comfortable during the entire stay. Hilda was a very helpful and friendly chef. The family came from far and wide and everybody agreed that this destination is one in a million.
