We stayed for just one night and found the place amazing. It’s very quiet at night, ideally located for hiking, with plenty to explore in the area. The breakfast was great, and I loved that you could make your own tea by combining different ingredients. There’s ample parking, and the beds were extremely comfortable. A little smile from the staff would have made this stay ideal, but I don’t want to lower the rating as everything else was perfect.

Choosing this hotel on short notice turned out to be a fortunate decision after our prior reservation was canceled due to bed bug concerns. The pleasantly surprising coincidence offered us a room with a breathtaking lake and mountain view at half the cost of our initial booking. The delightful breakfast spread exceeded our expectations with its delicious offerings and abundant choices. Our overall experience was extremely satisfying, proving to be excellent value for money. Amazingly restored historic building with a very relaxed and friendly, yet privacy respecting way. Common areas are beautiful and the whole place is an inspiration. Podenhaus is located comfortably in Bad Aussee in a way that it’s easy to make day-trips to nearby lakes. Bicycle rent is also nearby. Will surely be back!
