The hotel is in a beautiful location with its own access to the beach. It provides complete facilities for indoor and outdoor relaxation. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very good. It is just a shame that we could only stay here for one night. Next time we will definitely stay longer.

The Apartment was truly amazing! It had everything we could wish for and more! This apartment had a balcony on the top floor, from which you could see all the way to the other side of the lake. The bed was so amazing that we still miss it now that we are back home. The private waterfront access was just a few seconds walk from the property and featured ample "beach beds" mattresses and parasols, as well as things like Stand-Up Paddle-Boards to make the time at the lake even more entertaining for young and old! :) Overall we had a fantastic time here and can only truly recommend anyone to try this place out for themselves. We hope to be back soon again! :)

    We caught the train from Pritswich to Portschach which was a very short journey. Their timetables at the station/collection points are so easy to understand. Portschach is a very picturesque place. The houses looked very clean adorned with flowers, very tidy streets. People are very friendly and the majority spoke English. The food was delicious especially the cakes. There was a park area which took you down to the lake. Also a play area for children. We caught the ferry over to Maria Worth and then later, travelled by ferry to Velden.

    Sadly our hotel could not offer an evening meal as they had a group staying, but there are some excellent restaurants in the town: Pörtschacher Stüble, Sissi’s, Werzers Bootshaus (newly opened in May 2025) and Little Italy were our favourites. The young waitress in Little Italy was a lesson in how to wait at tables-such professionalism and always a big smile! We are in our 70s and less mobile than we once were, but getting around was very easy. The ferry runs all day; we spent many happy hours on it. You can buy a day ticket for about 22 euros and can hop on and off. We bought a weekly ticket for 48 euros and got our money’s worth! We loved it so much that I hesitate to tell people about it! Ryanair flies to Klagenfurt twice a week. From there a 15 minute taxi ride brings you to Pörtschach.

    It was a lovely little town with quite a few restaurants on offer on the main street and down by the lake, and a super market over the road from where we were staying. We ate at "Little Italy", lovely pasta. Had breakfast at the bakery by the train station - amazing food! The train station (5 minutes) up the main road was cheap and easy to use to go into Klagenfurt or the other direction of Velden. We booked all our train tickets using trainline app, which was easy too. It was a short walk down to the Lake which came alive in the evening. It also offered people with families a family friendly park to spend the day on the lake. One day we hired scooters and followed the lake until we found a place to swim. We stopped at Pritschitz and bathed in the lake, locals had their paddleboards / kayaks out.

    Pörtschach is a (touristic) village at the Woerthersee with many restaurants and bars. Excellent for wateractivities but also a good base for walking/hiking. Sightseeing options in the neighbourhood to spend some days. We had a very good dinner experience at restaurant Orathai Schiffwirth.

    I and my wife stayed around 30 years ago. this time Irecognized that the reserves good old coutryside atmosphere. last time I felt Johannes Brahms everywhere in Poertschach, but this time I did not feel J.Brahms in the town, but the hotel maintain somewhat atmosphere of Brahms age, it is very important i thonk. house is old but good and we stayed comfortably. all staff were so friendly that we could share the dinner plate.

    Beautiful accommodation. The owners were very helpful and friendly and had no problem with a late check in. The morning swim in the lake was fantastic, part of the beach belongs to the hotel. Beautiful, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Perfect location near the boardwalk.
