Amiens is in the centre of farmland and apple orchards approx 18kms from the township of Stanthorpe. It is easy to drive to all the local attractions. The Amiens Legacy Centre explains the history of the area where WW1 returned servicemen were allocated plots of land.

Amiens is part of the Stanthorpe area so we went to Girraween National Park (30 mins or so away from Stanthorpe); we had been recommended to go to FoxBan Falls - this appears to be a private camping place but is close to the accommodation. We also attended the Stanthorpe Cheese Factory (20 mins away) which was excellent. The Japanese Restaurant in Stanthorpe was excellent for dinner. And the Stanthorpe Art Gallery had their Australia wide exhibition on which was so good - best we have seen for some time. Amiens itself is a quiet area.

Amiens is within easy driving distance of Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt attractions. It is a pretty rural area. I am not aware if any restaurants in the area itself, but there are restaurants within easy driving distance.
