We (4 adults) spent 2 nights in Avoca.

We (4 adults) spent 2 nights in Avoca. Day 1, lunch at Blue Pyrenees Winery before checking in to Avoca Cottages, 2 bedroom cottage, fully self contained with shared bathroom. Sleeps 5. Configuration, Bed 1 - 1x QS bed, Bed 2 - 1x QS bed + 1 Singe bed We chose to self-cater the first night. A visit the local supermarket provided everything we needed. Day 2, we visited St Ignatius Vineyard (highly recommend) for tasting, then a drive to Beaufort for lunch. Back in Avoca we dined at the Avoca Hotel for dinner (delicious). We could have packed a lot more in but chose the more leisurely option, Plenty of other wineries in the area to explore next time

Avocado has a lot of history. Great bakery.

Avocado has a lot of history. Great bakery. Quaint assortment of stores. Hotel is friendly and delicious beers. Easy walking distance from motel accommodation. Wineries and tourist sights make it a great place to visit. Ballarat is not far away too

We travelled by car to Avoca and the scenery and roads were really good. Once in Avoca the one way street tripped us up in a country town. But the place exceeded our expectations, room for everyone to spread out. Kids loved the double bunk with single on top. The staff were very accommodating. Breakfast had everything we needed to start our day. Weren't quite sure about shower but it was better than it looked. Very hot water. Town had the usual couple of hotels with food which was delicious. We went to the Avoca Hotel and our teens enjoyed exploring the street. Really old buildings from the Gold rush days and a fitting memorial to our diggers. Enjoyed the time and will return one day!

Avoca is in the centre of the Goldfield Shire / the Grampiens and with more than 20 wineries in close proximity the perfect destination for wine connoisseur and for everyone who loves to hike. The sourrunding villages and towns have a long history that is worth learning about.

Loved Avoca, a quiet little town with plenty to offer, friendly people, the motel we stayed in was excellent and close to town, they have a few shops, plenty of places to eat and the highlight was the Avoca Hotel, fantastic hosts and the food was exceptional. We’ll be back and we’ll tell others about Avoca.

I travel alot and the Avoca motel is the most pleasant; well maintained and best value for money accomadion I have stayed at. I throughally recommend a stay. There are some great wineries near Avoca and a short trip away at Moonambel more. The surrounding area is extremely picturesque. Avoca is a one pub town with a entertaining host and staff. The food was excellent. There is a country golf course on the Avoca river. Evening dining is also available at the golf club. Close enough for a great weekend trip from Melbourne .

I can not speak too highly of this property and its owner. My wife was taken ill and we intended to drive home missing some bookings, but she improved to the point that a stay in Avoca seemed warranted. We arrived a day early hoping that our booking could be advanced. The owner was able to accommodate this and did so with great courtesy including an upgrade in the process. This is an ideal place to stay if you wish to visit the many wineries in the Pyrenees Region. Full marks to the Avoca Motel.

Fantastic getaway country accommodation with relaxing gardens and patio deck that entices you to take in beautiful country scenery and serenity of abundant bird life. Walking distance to town, clubs and parks with plenty of options in Pyrenees Ranges of Vineyards, Sightseeing, Bushwalking activities. Absolute First Class Facility and Great Value. Do not usually post many reviews But Avoca Cottages is thoroughly worthy of praise.

Very friendly and helpful reception. Huge room, with heating activated before my arrival so it was comfortable from the start. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was within walking distance of the Avoca Hotel for an excellent meal and also the Silo Art.

We’ve stayed at the Avoca motel many times and find it really comfortable and always clean, and the prices for rooms are very reasonable. The rooms are well stocked with the essentials of tea and coffee, heating and cooling and the showers are great.
