The hotel is completely refurbished and modernised. We had two rooms, one came with a kitchenette and the other one was a regular twin. The kitchenette had everything one might have wanted, the usual toaster, kettle and microwave, the modern bathroom offered a washing machine and dryer. The beds were super comfy. The nice thing about the hotel was its central location and easy accessible street parking opposite the hotel. The restaurant offered a wide selection of food.

Bairnsdale is a good country town with supermarkets, cafes...

Bairnsdale is a good country town with supermarkets, cafes and other shops. There is a train staion and local buses. There is a river with nice waterside walks. The Catholic church of St Marys is particularly worth a visit as the ceiling has been painted in the Italian style. (See my photos)

getting around was easy, however I was only there overnight, I did not go and do touristy things as I had driven six hours and just wanted to rest. I would love to go back and spend more time there exploring.

The resort was wonderful, I cannot fault anything at all.

The resort was wonderful, I cannot fault anything at all. The place was clean, comfortable and the staff all went out of their way to accommodate us! We enjoyed great food at different venues and visited Painsville, Lakes Entrance and did sight seeing in Bairnsdale. The Information centre was a great help. The only thing I didn't really like was the noise of the traffic early in the morning.

Bairnsdale has many good cafes, pubs and restaurants - lovely places to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. We generally visit to see family, but Bairnsdale is a great base from which to explore all the local attractions - including, for example, the Buchan Caves.

Bairnsdale is a large country town.

Bairnsdale is a large country town. The Catholic Church as you you enter from the Melbourne side on the left is definitely worth a visit. A volunteer is available and has a wealth of information in relation to the church and history of the area. Not to be missed. There are plenty of shops, the Potted Pear, gift wares, is great. There are museums, historical and Aboriginal. Bairnsdale is a lovely place for a day visit.

This is a beautiful Victorian era establishment. The room was tastefully decorated. The Queen size bed was a bit on the firm side but was very comfortable and it was furnished with crisp, white sheets and luxurious pillows. There was a generous ensuite bathroom with quality amenities and fluffy white towels. Both rooms were spotlessly clean. A continental breakfast was available in the dining room which was quiet and very welcoming. The coffee was exceptionally good.

Best motel I've stayed in for years. Ian and Debbie fantastic hosts and full of local knowledge for tourists. Breakfast was absolutely superb and the room had everything you could wish for. Definitely stay again.
