FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

Very easy to navigate and get around.

Very easy to navigate and get around. We walked a short display to Fortitude valley train station and made our way to South Bank for less than $5 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Had the best time at Sth Bank park and man made pool, then a great dinner, drinks and live music at a pub 5min walking distance from the pool, easy walk back to train station. 3 happy exhausted kids and 2 happy adults

The ferry ride from Teneriffe to the CBD was the highlight with fabulous views of the riverside homes and apartments and the CBD.- The bars and restaurants near our hotel in Fortitude Valley were great too and we enjoyed some excellent meals.

Brisbane is a great city to visit.

Brisbane is a great city to visit. This wasn't my first time, yet each time I visit I find different sites to visit. I particularly enjoyed the walking tour I did of the city. I learnt lots of interesting information. My guide was Nicola and she conducted a great tour.

Brisbane is a nice place to be, with a more relaxed atmosphere compared to other cities. The climate can be quite good, being somewhat tropical. Everywhere is well connected with public transport, making it pretty easy to get around once you understand where to catch the various forms of transport.

Lovely city with great transport options especially the ferry service. Easy city to navigate by car and we found parking not to be a problem. Southbank was a wonderful place to visit.. the waterpark was so good for families and there were lots of good dining choices around there.

Location was ideal, despite being in the Brisbane CBD, it was located at a corner along Queens Street, a 1.5mile away from the city centre. Most of the shops were just minutes walk and good coffee and breakfast was readily available next to the hotel. Nice location!!

Location was great in the CBD but not right in the hustle of the mall. Easy walk access to Mall, Southbank, sights, food option & shops. Hotel restaurant is real quality with amazing food, wood fired pizza and the best coffee in Brisbane.

Great location - easy check in and check out. Surprisingly quiet for main road in city! Great value for money compared to other CBD hotels. I didn’t have the breakfast but it is cheap. Renovated bathroom and very clean.
