We enjoyed the rural experience of feeling being away from the business of city life & being near a peaceful lake. Yet only a 30 minute drive to beautiful Strathalbyn in one direction, and in the opposite direction Goolwa, providing us with plenty of activities including wineries, cafes, antique stores, Sunday market and great beaches.Guest review byDebbieAustralia - 10.0

In the winter school holidays, Clayton Bay was still quiet and peaceful. The Clayton Bay foreshore walk is a 4km easy walking trail which gently meanders around the Clayton Peninsula offering beautiful views across the lake to Hindmarsh Island. The only shop is the 'Sails Cafe' which is licensed and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner but opening hours change with the seasons so it's best to check before going. It also sells some simple provisions but again it's best to bring your own groceries. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and some gentle walking with lovely views then Clayton Bay is the place.Guest review byRachelAustralia
