I chose this accommodation for my sister, my elderly mother & myself because I thought it sounded a little different, interesting & clean! I was right!!! We absolutely loved staying here. The surrounding bushland is beautiful and alive with birds and critters which is perfect for a bird nerd like myself. The cabin was cosy and had everything we needed. Having an outdoor fire was perfect. Was able to watch the lunar eclipse from the bed! Will definitely be back.

Basic motel with everything you need. We prepared all our own meals, has a nice quiet outlook, great hot water great heating. Stuff for kids. Great value very comfortable and top location close to observatory and Warrenbungles.

    Ideal place to have an overnight stay after driving for max. 10 hours including regular breaks. Good range of takeaway food places and the local Woolworths supermarket. Very easy to get around Coonabarabran with the highway being the main street.

    It has an excellent Chinese restaurant.

    It has an excellent Chinese restaurant. The Siding Springs Observatory was fascinating. The Warrumbungle Nation Park is lovely. Star gazing at the motel we stayed at was amazing. It was a classic example of how so many little towns in Australia have so much to offer when you dig below the surface.

    I was off season so with clouds and some rain everything (star gazing) was cancelled just hour before they commenced. There is nothing else to do here, 6hrs to turn around and go home. The landscape is the same as the rest of country NSW, nothing special to see here. No activities, no nice places to dine or breakfast. You can see clear sky's and stars from almost any country town or camp off the populated areas. The Sydney Observatory has a better experience come rain or shine. Nothing special, actually very boring and disappointing. Save yourself a long road trip and avoid unless it's clear and you happen to be passing through.

    The town is lovely and surprisingly vibrant.

    The town is lovely and surprisingly vibrant. Lots of interesting murals, some large and some small, and the fossil museums in the visitor centre and at Crystal Kingdom were really interesting. The drawcards are the nearby Telescope Observatories, the Warrumbungle National Park and the Pillaga Forest.

    This place is very basic but excellent for a family with children to get in touch with nature . Plenty of room to play and explore. Beautiful wildlife numerous birds and kangaroos. Lovely pool with slide for the little ones. Supermarket is a 8 minute drive away as you will need to do your own cooking .

    If you can, spend time at Parkes Radio Telescope, Do the...

    If you can, spend time at Parkes Radio Telescope, Do the Solar System Drive. Visit Coonabarabran Information Centre and see the history of the Diprotodon dinosaur which lived in the area up to 10,000 years ago. The Chinese Restaurant at the Golf Club is excellent. Visit the Optical Telescope. A must see. One of those towns that have much, much more than appears on the outside. If you don't have time constraints, you could easily spend a week here and in surrounding towns .

    The room was a moderately spacious room with a comfortable lounge and bed. It also contained a bar fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, plates, cutlery, TV, air conditioner(very quiet), and 2 single electric blankets ( 1 of which did not work). There were extra blankets in the cupboard. The bathroom had two heat lamps. We had a good nights sleep and enjoyed how the room was reasonable quiet considering it was on the main road. The genius discount from Booking.com that made this hotel affordable.

    Bob was exceptional and went above and beyond to meet all of our needs without hesitation. He made us feel very welcome and provided exceptional customer service. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Hotel is situated in the heart of Coonabarabran, surrounded by everything you need within walking distance. I highly recommend Acacia Motor Lodge..
