Salamander Bay is beautiful, there are so many activities to do and you are close to the beach, shops and great places to eat. I recommend going on a camel ride, horse riding, quad bike riding, take the whole family to toboggan Hill and roller blade, take the family on the toboggan, play mini golf, hit the beaches, enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, juice, pizza, fish n chips what ever you like eating and drinking it will definitely hit the spot, at the diggers club, berubi Beach tavern, pop into the local stores and grab a ice cream, go for a drive to enjoy the scenery, and learn about the history. The owners have a wonderful guide book of everything you can do in and around Salamander Bay. Use their suggestions - Its detailed and a great way to finding the best food, best walks, bakeries, coffee shops, best play areas for children and things to do in wet weather. They haven't missed a beat in this guide book! We had a wet week so went ten pin bowling, movies, Soldiers point Bowling Club which has a fantastic play area for kids. Two Bobs bakery in Nelson Bay is fab and Atmos for lunch in Shoal Bay is the best for a sunny day eating great Greek food and watching the Bay glisten in the sun - perfect for long lunches!Guest review byTREACYAustralia - 8.0

Salamander Bay is a thin sandy white beach which is protected by Corlette and Soldiers Point. It has trees along the sand dune so there is a lot of shade to protect you while you sit on the beach and watch the children play.
