What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks the glimpses of the upcoming beach urges you forward to explore. The rocks open up to an amazing small beach with a rockpool safe for swimming. We were the first people on the beach that day so it was amazing to only see our footprints in the sand. After a great time at the beach head over to Stokes Bay Cafe opened from 11 -5 daily meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. You are a short drive to Pandana for all your grocery needs as Stokes Bay doesn't have a shop for general items.
Driving around we were centrally located half way on the island to go and see Kangaroo Island spirits, lavender farm, eucalyptus farm, wool shed, admirals arch and remarkable rocks just make sure you get a entry ticket to Flinders chase the visitor centre Cafe didn't open until 9.30 and didn't accept cash at the Cafe.
Short drive to Kingscote to go for lunch or to do some shopping. Had a great time had a small car not a 4wd but still went to all the places the roads were safe and signs easy to follow. Driving at dawn or dusk not advised due to wildlife.

The location overlooking the bay was beautiful, kangaroos everywhere birds bit of a drive from other places but all of Kangaroo Island is distant.
The owners left us a lovely bottle of wine and a jar of local honey. Lovely touch.

Awesome scenery on the north side of KI, tranquil and the wild kangaroos were a nice bonus. The location really suited us. It would not suit those looking for nightlife or proximity to local towns. There is only one cafe locally (great food though). The cabin had excellent cooking facilities, including an clean and well-maintained outdoor gas BBQ. There are multiple opportunities to shop for groceries between the ferry and Stokes Bay. The nearest supermarket is approximately a 45 minute drive from the cabin. We found the location had easy vehicle access to other attractions, such as Admiral's Arch, Remarkable Rocks, Vivonne Bay and Seal Rocks.

A really lovely spot for families.
A really lovely spot for families. We were a couple but saw some families with little children in the sheltered lagoon area. Lovely restaurant at The Rockpool Cafe. You have to be quite slim to access the beach through the rocks.

Stunning beaches with white sands, blue ocean on one side and beautiful hills on the other. Need to be prepared in regards to meals because it is remote although we managed to find wineries that served cheese boards. Thank good for google maps

We loved our stay here! Beautiful views from this little cabin on the cliff over Stokes Bay Beach. Incredible location. The cabin was so adorable and had everything we needed. We loved watching the wildlife in the morning over breakfast and tea and at night over dinner and drinks. Such a lovely spot and the hosts were very helpful. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet visit to KI surrounded by the wildlife! We hope to come back someday!

The location is stunning. Stokes Bay Beach is gorgeous, as is nearby Snelling Beach.
It is roughly equidistant between the East & Flinders Chase so although you need to drive each way, you can decide what to do based on the weather.
Owners, Paul & Katja, are very friendly & quick to respond to any questions.
Very quiet& peaceful.
Lots of wildlife at your door.
Kitchen hadeverything we needed.
A lovely place to stay

Beautiful view. Look over Stokes Bay from balcony. Thanks Paul and his family (including their dogs, cat and sheep) for their hospitality . With Paul’s help, we were surrounded by wild kangaroos. Whole family enjoyed the unique experience. Now they also provide wifi.

Both loved our 3 day stay at Waves & Wildlife cottages, peaceful, beautiful views surrounded by wallabies ( no people 😄 )😉👌. 1 minute drive down to Stokes Bay Beach which is superb ♥️. Just loved the tranquillity of the Island. 👏

Cottage was clean and secluded. The view was great, also about 500m walk to Stokes Bay beach.
The communication infrastructure was in the process of being rebuilt so there was no wifi
