    Yass is very picturesque.

    Yass is very picturesque. It has a mixture of old and new buildings which blend together well. It simply has a nice feel to the place. Ate at one of the clubs - RSL? Food was great - atmosphere was very good.

    We were pleasantly surprised by the charm of Yass and...

    We were pleasantly surprised by the charm of Yass and enjoyed the historical walking tour of the town and a leisurely walk along the river. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Kaffeine in town and had fun discovering the gift shops and their beautiful wares. We found Yass a great base to explore the different surrounding regions and towns.

    Yass is a typical country town with a good range of cafes...

    Yass is a typical country town with a good range of cafes and restaurants/pubs. On this occasion, on a public holiday we found that The Australian hotel pub has good selection of beers and food with more than generous portions. The same applies to their desserts.

    Nice Country town with plenty of facilities, good shopping- affordable coffee shops and street food, grest hambuger shop's, clubs first class, lovely church to attend on Sunday wlth freindly people , mechanical outlet's, close to vineyards and Canberra.

    A lovely historic town with a great walk near the river.

    A lovely historic town with a great walk near the river. The closeness to Canberra was very beneficial as I heard Vivaldi, some Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Paganini played by the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne which consisted of 5 stringed instruments and a Spanish baritone soloist. I was lucky to have heard them in the Catholic Chapel. It was the highlight of my trip.

    Yass is a super cute little country town with lots of...

    Yass is a super cute little country town with lots of character and cool old Victorian buildings. I'm a building and house creeper, so love wandering around local streets checking out the architecture. There are a few great cafes and restaurants, and a handful of shops - nothing too fancy. The Yass river provides some nice spots to hike or picnic and the town has a handful of interesting historic places.

    The Thunderbird Motel was a convenient stay on our journey south. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bed comfortable and the room large. Located within easy walking distance of the centre of Yass it ticked all the boxes for us. We didn’t dine at the motel’s delightfully named Ewe ‘n Me restaurant, so I can’t comment on that, instead we had a hugely enjoyable tapas meal and drinks at the deservedly popular Yazzbar in town and then walked back to the motel.

    Our hostess was very helpful in sorting out a couple of problems we encountered, lovely manner. We appreciated having a blanket on the bed instead of the ubiquitous doona that most motels and hotels now have on the beds. The restaurants are only a few minutes drive away.

    Excellent stay, as always. We stop at Central Yass B&B every time we travel by car from Victoria to NSW or QLD. It is a great place to stop over for the night, great location, very quiet and comfortable. Highly recommended.

    An older hotel which was scrupulously clean and so obviously well maintained. The staff went beyond to make me feel welcome. I would stay there again and will if I return to Yass.
