There were places to shop and eat, though we were there on a Monday morning when most were closed. It is a small city in a beautiful location along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. It has a long history of producing pottery, bathroom and kitchen porcelain fixtures, as well as high-quality bricks. There are more than 100 kilometres of walking and bike paths along the river and through the hills. The city is a major shopping hub for the area and has all of the big box stores, a thriving light industry, and farm suppliers. It has some ot the best year-round climate in Canada. Medicine Hat is nicely located along the South Saskatchewan River Valley. It is a major shopping hub, and as such, it has virtually all the major stores.
