FAQs about hotels in Montreal

A Blend of the Urban and the Outdoors

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.

Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground to the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, movie theaters and food courts.

From there, the metro will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.

In summer, stay closer to the historic quarter and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St. Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t good enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to Montreal Casino.

Whether you’re visiting for festivals or fashion, gastronomy or culture, with over 190 hotels and B&Bs with Booking.com you’ll find your perfect home away from home.

We used Montreal, as a base.

We used Montreal, as a base. We are not normally city people, But I must say that our visit was lovely.. We visited the Parc Jean-Drapeau, The Botanical Gardens and also we went to Mount Royal which was just behind our accommodation. The people in the city were very helpful, and very friendly, especially when we tried to use the public transport. We also took a day trip to Quebec, there was several companies that offered this...Tourist information was also very helpful...

This question is not possible to answer since everyone is looking for something different. I expected it to be more French French but it was not, rather it just had its own character that we did not find especially appealing. The new town was just another collection of modern high rises that you can find anywhere. But we did find some good food.

Visited different neighborhoods to get the feel of Montreal Unfortunately there was a strike with the buses and metro during certain hours. So Uber or a taxi was essential People very helpful and friendly Great architecture. Weather, layering of clothes as it was cool early in the day but warmed up later

The old part of the city is delightful, full of quirky streets, cafes, bars and shops and full of character. Montreal is a big city so the central business and banking district can feel pretty brutal, yet also carries the grandeur of its modern architecture. The view over the city from Mount Royal, especially from the terrace of the Chalet, is spectacular and not to be missed, although be prepared for the long climb up the stairs to the top!

I had a fabulous stay in Montreal!

I had a fabulous stay in Montreal! Coming from Toronto, I immediately noticed the atmosphere difference. Montreal is so calm! I'm used to the chaos of Toronto and felt at peace here. The people are friendly, I love the trees along most streets, the fresh air, clean streets and parks, how walkable the city is and all the different activities it offers. I took this trip as a treat for myself to focus on wellness, and it didn't disappoint. I'm even thinking about relocating to Montreal and can confidently say it's my new favorite city.

Montréal had some nice spots, we seen them in a day.

Montréal had some nice spots, we seen them in a day. It was very dirty in some areas and there is a lot of homelessness. We were there for 3 nights and I probably would’ve been happy with one. However I am more of a scenery, nature person rather than a city history person

Hotel has the best location bec of the proximity to the tourist spots like Notre Dame, Old Port Montreal, St Catherine Street, Chinatown, etc. Also, the Airport bus 747 will stop just close to the hotel. Its very walkable that we could just go keep going back the European Vibes spots.Across is also a grocery and a shopping mall. There's breakfast too, the price of hotel is fair enough. I would be staying here again when I come back visit MTL💗. Thank you.

We stayed two weeks and were very happy with accommodation. Location was superb, walking distance to all major Montreal landmarks, many restaurants and shopping areas. Breakfast was good if limited in selection. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. I would with pleasure recommend this hotel to anyone looking for downtown location!

Hotel staff were extremely accommodating, we had issues with our first room due to noise and our concerns were responded to very promptly, with our new room having a fantastic view of the Montréal skyline. Would thoroughly recommend to those not looking to stay in downtown Montréal, but a 15/20 mins walk away from the downtown attractions.

The room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel was also very convenient as it was at the center of Montreal so shopping areas, coffee shops, downtown, were only at a walking distance.
