Our two-week stay at Are Kapakapa was absolutely incredible. This family-run gem offers a unique blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty that truly makes it stand out. From the moment we arrived, Vaa and Joliene, the wonderful hosts who manage the property, welcomed us with such warmth and genuine care that we instantly felt at home. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our stay was perfect made the experience unforgettable. The property itself is a slice of paradise. Surrounded by lush coconut trees, the entire house exudes a peaceful charm. One of the highlights of our stay was the close proximity to the beach—just a short walk away. It’s hands down one of the best beaches we’ve ever visited, with pristine sands and crystal-clear waters that made every moment there magical. The house is fantastic—spacious, immaculately clean, and well-equipped to provide a cozy and comfortable experience. The cool sea breeze and the thoughtful layout of the house ensured we were always comfortable. It’s clear that Vaa and Joliene have put great effort into making Are Kapakapa a home away from home for their guests. Another highlight of our stay was exploring the fruit trees around the property. The coconuts were a delightful treat, perfect for a refreshing snack after spending time at the beach. Every aspect of Are Kapakapa reflects the love and effort that Vaa and Joliene pour into their hospitality. The combination of the peaceful atmosphere, thoughtful amenities, and personal touches made our stay truly special. We booked the waterfront villa so the view to the sea was amazing. A really comfortable room with a lot of space. There were free bikes that we used to explore the island or go to the mini market and the atm. There were also free kanoes. Amazing place.

We hired a scooter from a local rental company (Rino’s is best) which allowed us easy access to this stunning property, located in one of the most amazing parts of the island! The house is modern, clean, quiet, and has stunning views. We watched whales from the deck, ate pawpaw fresh from the trees. Our hosts (Simon and Ura) picked us up from the airport and saw us off at the end. Their hospitality during our stay was amazing. They remained in contact to make sure we were happy and assisted us with local recommendations and bookings as well. Absolutely recommend.

Cheran and her mum, were super hosts and managers of the Tai Roto Bay Resort. We were greeted at the airport with big smiles and beautiful personalities. Arriving at our beachfront villa took our breath away at the sight of the lagoon right out front. Welcome to Paradise. Villas was gorgeous, clean and bed super comfy with a yummy breakfast delivered daily and very private. Great local cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

We had everything we needed with proper beachfront access. Loved the outdoor shower, kitchen facilities, a fan, mosquito net, that we had filtered water, free paddle board hire, comfy lounge chairs, hammocks and we could even hire a scooter onsite (1 available i believe). Communication was fantastic! Highly recommended for adventurous people and those that love camping.

Location was excellent Extremely helpful staff who went out of their way to welcome you and help you enjoy a lovely holiday in their very comfortable and spacious triple bedroom with excellent cooking facilities and large fridge and microwave.The sea was 15 metres away. Definitely come back again.

    1st time in Aitutaki we stayed 1 night... this time 2 nights.. next time at least 3! The bone fishing is the best in the world, the views are incredible and the people are the best/nicest of all. If you're going to come to rarotonga, make the trip to Aitutaki Socials: Fish Eat Repeat

    I loved the friendliness of the islanders.

    I loved the friendliness of the islanders. My bike chain came off 3 times on a ride to the grocery store. Each time an islander came out of their house, or stopped their car to help. Once on a walk, a woman invited us to her porch and gave us 15 mangoes. In today’s troubled these acts of kindness by the cook islanders, was such a reassuring thing.

    Loved the location and beach views.

    Loved the location and beach views. A small amount of eating facilities in the area, and most were very good. We used tourist activity vans to be picked up and delivered, plus our accommodation did transfers to/from airport. So we did not have transport. Readily available car and scooter rental at our accommodation had we wanted it. Recommend the lagoon tours at Aitutaki

    Definitely stay here.

    Definitely stay here. We stayed just the one night, and could've stayed here much longer. It's so peaceful and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. Excellent places to eat are close by and the beach is immaculate.

    The weather was not the best, so hampered our judgement. The people were very nice and we were very pleased to have a rental car with Aircon, so we covered the whole island on driving adventures! However, it would be more convenient if the car hire places were at the airport, and/or they would work in more closely with the plane arrivals and departures (We had to wait 2 hours for our plane because the company dropped us there at 5pm, which is the latest they will work...) The two cafes (Avatea & Koru), and the Pacific resort, were excellent!

    Include a walk around the island to get the feel of its fabulous location. We put the ambience before our food expectations - breakfasts were generous, lunches were our most enjoyed and the dinners relaxing with Thursday happy hour, local musicians playing and the location adding to a great holiday. A great Resort particularly suitable for young couples with as much or as little activity available as one could wish for.

    Location close to the airport and other posher hotels, beachfront basic villa with everything we needed. Yummy delicious breakfast delivered to the door, airport transfers. The staff even cleaned the beachfront, more than some of the others do! Nice friendly host. Couldn't fault the place. Would definitely stay there again.
