Our stay at the Fairfield by Marriott hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel's facilities were immaculately clean and well-maintained, reflecting the staff's dedication to providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests. The rooms were well-appointed, featuring a spacious king-size bed, plush pillows, a comfortable sofa, and a large flat-screen TV. Guests can also enjoy complimentary water, tea, and coffee in the comfort of their own room. The bathroom was a highlight, with a spacious shower area featuring a double showerhead and a built-in seat. Additional amenities included a hair dryer and a range of toiletries, ensuring that guests had everything they needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus service from the airport to the hotel which can be taken at Gate 3 on the 4F floor (The airport staff can contact the hotel by phone and notify them of your arrival, so that you can be picked up by the hotel's shuttle bus.)

The hotel was a simple one, but the service was really a tad too great that it didn’t matter that the room was simple. The staff were so welcoming and hospitable, and they really put your happiness and interest at heart. Will definitely miss this place and will so be happy to stay here again when I have the next chance to visit Beijing again

Very central hotel, most staff can speak English. White Zhang was very kind in helping me print an important document off. While you're there, you have to phone and ask for water (or something), a service robot will deliver it and it's just the most adorable thing! Central location - there's a Starbucks just across the road. I didn't use Subway or anything so I can't speak for how that is, but DiDi (Chinese Uber) is very convenient. Restaurant had nice food. Oh, the bed was extremely comfortable!

FAQs about hotels in Beijing

From Chinese Dynasties to Cultural Dynamics

A world-renowned gem, sprawling Beijing has magnificent monuments and peaceful parks. At its heart is the world’s largest square - Tiananmen, surrounded by important museums and the amazing Forbidden City. This 15th-century, walled complex of palaces neighbours Jingshan Park and Beihai Park with its imperial garden.

Opposite Tiananmen Square is the ultra-modern National Centre for Perfoming Arts, a beacon of the city’s culture so impressively displayed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the Bird’s Nest Stadium.

To its east is the UNESCO World-Heritage listed Summer Palace, a lakeside retreat of emperors, while also UNESCO listed is the grand Temple of Heaven in Chongwen district, where remnants of Ming dynasty city walls are visible. Nearby are several hutongs, narrow alleys whose traditional architecture contrasts with wider, modern roads including Beijing Financial Street, the city's business area.

The most popular Beijing shopping street is Wangfujing, and other must-see sights include the giant pandas at Beijing Zoo and the Great Wall of China, an easy day trip from Beijing.

As you would expect from the capital of the world’s most populous country, there are a good number of 5-star hotels in Beijing on Booking.com, mainly in the Dongcheng and Chaoyang districts. There are also several hotels near Beijing Capital Airport in the north-east.

Loved China as a destinantion, Beijing was least favourite though, but also because it was Golden Week and incredibly busy, we knew that so we had made the choice beforehand, going to the Great Wall was a highlight, along withe Summer Palace and the Hutong district around the Bell & Drum Tower, we visited the Olympic area as well which was interesting and of course Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City, both of the latter were so crowded that we felt a bit underwhelmed by them. Eating Peking Duck in Beijing is a must of course and ours was great, you can order a 1/4 1/2 or full and will come with all the extras you need. If you go to the Great Wall my advice is set off no later than 6.30 so you have chance to enjoy before the crowds arrive later, and you can always put your feet up later !

Travel to Beijing at the low season - mid to end of the September. The Great Wall of China is a must visited place. Had so much fun sliding down on toboggan. The shopping malls are huge & awesome and lots of varieties. People are friendly to help. It is easy to travel around with public transport - subway and public bus (RMB2 per ride regardless distance). Worth of money spent stayed a night at Universal Studio Hotel with 4pm entrance on the day of arrival and an hour earlier entrance the next day. Managed to go on all the rides without long queue.

Beijing is a beautiful city with a lot of tourist places which you must visit. From Beijing you can visit the Great Wall of China, Summer palace and lots of other nice places. Tip: Go to the Hutongs, there are a lot of small shops there and it is a great place to winder around.

Beijing is a must-see for anyone travelling to China, I recommend a few days there. The Forbidden City, the Great wall and the Summer palace are must-see for anyone interested in historical architecture and experiencing an ancient culture. However, there is also plenty to do besides that - the hutongs are an amazing way to experience traditional culture in the modern day, as well as buy handmade souvenirs and jewellery. There are massive modern shopping centres with plenty of Chinese and international brands. There are traditional restaurants and swanky modern bars. There is also Gubei water town, offering a great day-trip for anyone wishing to see a bit of nature and quaint town houses. Beijing offer something for everyone.

Probably the best hotel in Beijing superior to any other 5 star hotels. Absolutely superb! Deserves to be selected as number one choice: the curated design, the serenity, the attentive staff, the layout of the rooms, the unthinkable detail thought in advance, the dinning experience associated with the unique location with almost a direct connection to Beijing subway, transform a casual stay in a ultimate experience. Congratulations 🤩👏

Excellent location and really cool that it was right next to the Beijing Hotel and Wangfujing shopping street. Clean and nice, super comfortable slippers were provided by the hotel. English-speaking staff upon checkout which was very helpful. Had a great stay in a fine room. Interestingly the pins for chargers were of the type used in EU and Hong Kong, respectively, which worked very well for us.

Everything was perfect. I must make a special mention of the excellent level of service provided by the reception team, especially the kindness of Tina and Alex who helped us much more than we would expect even in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast includes enough hot food for a lunch. The pool water is not too cold. We will most definitely stay here again when we are in Beijing.
