Everything is clean, great atmosphere, amazing food, beautiful decorations, great Staff. Very friendly . The beach is clean and beautiful , great sunsets. It is easy to mingle around without getting lost inside the hotel. I didn’t use the spa which seem amazing but I am definitely coming back and that will be one of the things I won’t miss. 🥰

The place is a blast for the money, not as expensive as Viajero in Medellin yet really cosy, this is a large building - with rooftop pool, ping pong, restaurant, there are various activities. It really combines the hotel - because you can feel that you stay in a good quality hotel yet give you the hostel vibe with all the people around. It is close by to the old historic centre by foot and there is possibility to store luggage after check out - thank you Miguel!

The thing is that the historic centre of Santa Marta is noisy. But it is the starting point for Tayrona and Minca, as well a playa blanca (with the great Canopy). You could stay at Rodadero, but that did not look very nice either.

Our time in Santa Marta/Rodadero/Minca was nice, although we did not get the full experience of "where the mountain meet the sea" that we were expecting. We did not take a day trip to the national park because yellow fever vaccinations were required for entry. The beaches in the area are okay, though not outstanding. I'm glad we went and got to know the area, but I'd not especially recommend it.

Santa Marta is beautiful and really fun.

Santa Marta is beautiful and really fun. We stayed 4 nights, which felt just right. There isn't a ton to do there during the day, but we had two wonderful day trips. The other two days we spent wandering around the historic center, visiting the few museums and plazas and drinking a lot of mojitos.

20 years ago Santa Marta was perfect for me.

20 years ago Santa Marta was perfect for me. It was authentic, medium-sized, provincial, no hi-rise development or marina, with a colonial feel to it. Hotel chains are encroaching... Ironically I became a part of that change.

I didn't stay long enough to truly explore the city. Our best day was rained out ALL day and evening. The city looks like most larger cities in Colombia and I get the feel that it is welcoming and friendly. Doesn't have the typical tourist type city feeling which I enjoyed. It's a nice getaway place that should be noticed.

Playa Rodadero is no secret, it’s a very well known and easily accessible and safe public beach with no shortage of hotels, apartments, restaurants and services. Plenty of things to do. My kids absolutely love this place and we have been many times. It’s not expensive and I consider it a good value vacation. Perfect for a romantic getaway, or a family trip. Anywhere from 3 nights to a week is perfect. If you like to bake in the Sun and cool off with a few ice cold beers and a dip in a (fairly) clean beach I don’t know of too many places that are better. There are also many excellent restaurant options with great food, and views of the beach. My favorites are Dónde Chucho and the BK. If you book an apartment with kitchen, you can buy groceries at the tienda, or at D1, Ara or Carulla and make a quick breakfast in the morning or grab an empanada and some fresh fruit in the street. Lots of fast food and local lunch restaurants competing for business and prices are very reasonable. Night life is relaxing, but you won’t forget you are in Colombia because the vallenato music doesn’t stop until early morning. I’ve been going to Santa Marta for 15 years now and not much changes… Nor have I ever left disappointed and not wanting to return.

Everything was perfect and delicious! Gorgeous touches and decorations. Room was very quiet, comfortable for a family of 4 and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was one of the best in our stays in Santa Marta, delicious dinner and good cocktails. Welcoming staff, always available. Location is about 8 minutes from the historic center by taxi and there are some fast food places around de hotel. I would stay at Camali hotel again without hesitation

Beautiful oasis in Santa Marta. The city has not much to offer except the memorial area of Simon Bolivar (which is located about 20 minutes out of the city). We opted for a snorkeling excursion (read tag along with a divers tour) which we arranged late in the evening. Water tours are often booked, so look into it in advance. For the rest of our stay we really enjoyed the hotel, the pools are unique and it is a very relaxing area.

A lovely family run hotel in the colonial part of Santa Marta. My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable too. Great vibe in the guesthouse with hosts always there to help and make the stay of the guests as pleasant as possible. I was given advice on local attractions as well as provided valuable info about transport options. Highly recommended. Bojan
